    Sorry-I must have confused.

I meant the UMD is the fault-not the hands.

It's uncomfortable for me-just held one today...last time I go near a go XD

And it's doing a crap job-it's still a games device with media abilities-the iphone has phone abilities and so many apps...even motion sencor.

They screwed this up-and a few people complain about the screen size as well-sure it would actually make the games slightly better (squashed screens make games look better to me-especially with bad visuals XD) but still-people like 'em BIG!

As for the 4000...the go may determin it's real fate.

And that's if we are measuring from center of the D-pad to center of the analog stick, right? Otherwise, the space gap between the two is 3/16 (0.1875) inch apart.

The PSP Go, to me, is a bad investment for now. I have over 20 UMDs, some ripped on my harddrive, some not (because I'm lazy), and I'd rather not have any of them become useless to me on the Go. Not to mention that I can't play ISOs on the Go itself as of right now.

Until the custom firmware becomes developed for the PSP Go, I'm going to stay the hell away from it. My original PSP-Slim (not the revised one) suits me just fine; I can take full advantage of the PSP-Slim with the M33 custom firmware. And also, my 2200 maH battery can beat the shit out of the PSP Go's internal battery any given day.

One thing to note, the PSP Go comes with a 16GB internal memory, but the minute you open the box, power it on, and check the free space, you get less than 15GB (system information would display that you have 14GB). For the PSP, with the 16GB memory card, you have a little more than 15GB of free space (thanks to some idiot who came up with a fucked up idea that 1,000,000,000 bytes equals 1GB.)

    ...Mine was just an estimate.

I dislike the sticks position on the go-I'd rather use the D pad otherwise on that thing.

I also dislike it but only genre you have to choose if you wanna use sticks or pad is racing. So its not that big.

It depends-dirt 2 and sega rally don't need the stick-but most sony games worth any merit do need it.

    Daxter

Gran turismo (can use dpad-but reduced response times-I need instant full steer)

God of war (...bit hard on the stick races :( )

So the ISO files downloadable from internet is like "unofficial" game software?

You could say that, you actually play the game using UMDs, the "legal" method is to buy the UMD to play game, or the "not so legal" :p method is to dwonload ISO or CSO files of the game and put it in your ISO folder of the Memory Stick to play.

You can download games legally thru the psn store-but of course cost are involved-and download resuming isn't as easy as the illegal stuff.

It can be hacked, but not by battery...

Something called "chickHEN" which half of my soft-hack guide explains.

It's safe and no risk of damage-HOWEVER the psp must be on a certain firmware...if it's a 3000 you buy, it MUST be second hand as all the new one's are above 5.03-the hackable firmware.

If you do think of buying it...act like an idiot and ask if you can try it-check system settings and see what the firmware number is.

    If not..avoid it.

Besides it's cheaper for an older model-as long as it's not a second gen 2000-those are the same as the 3000 models in terms of hacking :(

im in guam and if we open a game in gamestop, we cant return it so it will be a waste of money if i buy it and its a higher firmware

There is no PSP ISO on RomU, you can get those from www.pspisoz.com.
For firmware update, patc, etc. hYpNoS is better to explain it.

Locate via google the firmware "5.oo" and place that into a folder called "UPDATE" then place in the games folder called "GAME" and run that on the psp.

Try the tutorial in my sig after that and locate what is suggested.

OMG, OMG, LOL, I have in my hands a hacked PSP 1001 for $120CDN with a 1GB memory stick. Did I do well? Is it a good machine compared to a 2000? Does not come with manual so have to figure this out on my own.

Comes with FIFA 09, it's a cso file in the ISO directory, and I downloaded Riven as a iso file and put in same directory as FIFA but I don't see it when I turn on PSP. Am I supposed to rename iso to cso?

Depends on the condition of the PSP that you got. How much wear-and-tear does it have? Also, see below regarding comparison with the 2000 slim model.

And the 1000 model consumes much more power too, which means shorter battery life compared to the 2000 slim model. That's why the 1000 model comes with the 1800 mAh battery while the 2000 slim (and 3000 models as well) come with the 1200 mAh battery.

Looks brand new, a couple of teensy little scratches, no wear and tear at all. Comes with the black case and charger. Bought it from a girl on craigslist who needed money. I don't know how much they go for so don't know if a hacked 1000 is worth $120CDN.
