Dumbass. Every console has immature games. The psp has the potential for more M-rated games, since they actually sell well and they're a lot easier to play, as it's a near console experience.

And not everybody likes kingdom hearts.

Yippee, we got ourselves a butthurt PSP fanboy!

Your reply just solidified that the PSP targets mature gamers, but didn't really argue the fact that there are mature gamers also prefer a DS, but fanboys still claim that the DS is for kids for some stupid reason that i don't want to find out.

It's not always about the uber-cool CGI sequences or astonishing eye-candy that attracts mature gamers.

Want a perfect example? Pokemon. Graphics are still comparable to its first ever release for the Game Boy, but it still rakes in the $$$ because of the basically endless replay value.

So PSP fanboys, before saying that the DS is "a kid's handheld" or something like that, make sure you don't own yourself in the end.
But the majority of the PSP fanboys do, and theyre almost the same fanboys who say that the DS is for kids. Newflash: you're playing a game where the kid uses a freakin' key as a weapon and has Donald Duck as your sidekick!

tl;dr - Stop with the "kids" talk. the PSP is as much a handheld for kids as the DS is.

Hey, does the PSP have that cookbook training game? or that walking training game? or those useless whatcha-macallit applications for real life games? The DS caters to the older generation too, i.e. the DSi XL.

Nintendo is coming up with the 3DS, though I doubt it will come in the near future 2011, 2012...

And being a DS owner myself, I love the DSlite and DSi!

    good points.

i don't see kids doing these training games and the homebrew applications. the cooking games they may play, but probably not the training games.

    1. I don't know anyone over the age of 12 that still plays pokemon. Plus the newer games suck.

    2. Not a PSP fanboy. I have a GBA SP, a DSI, and a PSP.

    3. PSP is more for mature gamers, as it has lots of M rated games, long lasting hardcore RPGs (monster hunter anyone?), and some well put together online multiplayer.

    4. Oh and I don't have to deal with 60% of the games being shitty shovelware that "trains your mind" or teaches you how to do math better.

hey seph, someone just called you a 12 year old! :D

    Define mature gamers.

If by "mature gamers" you mean those who play games with lots of blood, gore, sex, vulgarities etc. (who thinks theyre with the "in" community because they play games like these), then i agree. But if by "mature gamers" you mean gamers around 20+, then you're sadly mistaken.

    nice contradictions.

yea you dont have to deal with 60% shovelware that trains your mind, but luckily for us, we also dont have to deal with 60% purely boring hack 'n slashers that do nothing but look good and bore you to tears.

I mean somebody I've actually met in real life. Of course everyone on a DS gaming site is going to be a pokemon fan

I know of at least 2 that are my age, and really, the only reason why they play it is because we grew up playing the originals, watched the TV show, and collected cards.

I know at least 10 who play religiously, and a whole lot of people who play it casually.

I mean i used to love the pokemon games, I played every single one up to emerald, but it just got really repetitive and most of my friends and I grew out of it...

    taking your words back? nice.

i love it when people talk out of their ass and say extremely inaccurate stuff (ex. your post, and the "DS is for kids" argument) and then they eat their words in the end.

How did I take my words back? I said i don't know anybody that i've met that still plays pokemon and is over the age of 12, and that's still true

modify post button is on the top right. if you think your post is lacking, MODIFY IT! not doing so means you meant every word you said, and you're covering up because someone punked you on it.

    Man, this topic.

Yep. A majority of PSP users are KH fans?
    Not likely.
Most PSP users are in it for the media.
Pretty much every PSP I see is chock full of music and movies.
Along with the spinoffs of PS console games in general.
Like ACreed, GoW and I guess KH.
Because we all know how child-friendly Kratos and Altair are.

But PSP has a more mature audience.
You can't deny the DS is advertised for younger children while the PSP is advertised for teenagers or older.
Look at the first PSP commercials. It was 2 adults on a plane.
Where you go and say the PSP is not advertised for a more mature audience, I'll never understand.

You also can't deny Pokemon is advertised to kids as well.
It's been marketed to the point where it easily passes as a child's trend in the mainstream.

Bottom Line: Keys suck and Daffy Duck > Donald Duck. :3
I have to agree with Getbuck on most of his points.
    Most of them.
Not all. Like the Pokemon fans.

    @Zangief & getbuck21
-I've never seen a lamer argument.

I agree with your first post. the PSP does have more mature audience, but that doesnt mean the DS doesnt have them too.

on the 2nd post though, yes i can deny it, and i will deny it. the problem is that whenever people criticize a Nintendo product, all they look at are Mario games, Pokemon games, Zelda games, etc. Granted those cater to all ages (zelda though is the most to cater to mature gamers), there are other games that are created for Nintendo, or the DS to be exact.

Can you really say that TWEWY, Contra DS, Advance Wars, Lock's Quest, Broken Sword, the Castlevanias, Dementium, etc are targeted towards the younger audience?

http://touch-ds.jp/mediagallery/Take a look at the DS commercials here. you'll find 2 things:
    1) the women are hot in that commercial, and
    2) most of the people in the commercials are adults

Why? Because it looks like a kid's game?

I really would want you to check out any site that relates to the Pokemon competitive scene. You'll see guys over there talk about stuff that i would never believe would belong to a game that looks very outdated and, well, kiddie-friendly.

The beauty about Pokemon games is that you can play it as it is by being very casual about it (e.g. collect some pokemon here and there finish some quests, gloat about how your pokemon is much cuter than your friends', etc.) OR you can be the complete Poke-geek and manipulate every stat and even control when your monster will evolve so you can maximize his stats so you win most of your battles. It's simple AND complex.
