I've had my PSP for a long time, and still play it occasionally (DJ Max series FTW) but have returned to playing more and more on my DS since the game library is larger and I like to get games that doesn't take 1 GB or more to download. For me it's a comfort thing and I don't really care about multimedia since I have an iPod touch and a cellphone. At first it was the coolness factor but now it's more about games, and the DS at the moment has more games I'm interested in and keep returning to. Just my opinion.
PSP with hacks is better than DS with a flash card. PSP has the more emulators, like N64 and PS1. There's also no need for 3-in-1 cards to play GBA. The PSP also has more quality in its system. But it's not like the DS sucks. They have a few good games and get good exclusives (Phoenix Wright, Scribblenauts, Pokemon RPGs). But I'd rather have 3D platformer games, so PSP is my personal choice.
I like both equally. My DSi XL is much better than the original DSi due to it's increased screen size and longer battery life. Since I've had it last week, I've only had to charge it once. The DS has many good games, but most of the good ones are side-scrollers/platformers. Not too many 3D games like the PSP... My PSP (flashed) on the other hand has plenty of 3D games and open world games which I prefer at times. Tomb Raider is much better on the PSP than DS for sure. Open-world compared to side-scrolling Tomb Raider...Open-world wins. The PSP doesn't have as long battery life, but that's probably due to it's hardware. They both have their pros and cons, but I like both.
Ok. So you mean that you're more of a Nintendo fan than anything else. I just like games for their play value and not who makes them most of the time. But I always know that Naughty Dog and Insomniac will make Amazing games for Sony Systems.
I said DS because, there's more of a selection of games, and it's 1,000 times easier to play downloaded games
well every person has different taste for every games, I respect your own view and I know that those games sure is great for those consoles ^^
Concerning the argument between power vs. battery life. Yeah, the DS has longer battery life but it also has inferior specs compared to the PSP. I'd gladly sacrifice battery life in exchange for extra power. I'd sacrifice mpg efficiency for a faster car. If you hook up the systems to a power source, you have virtually infinite energy so maximize the power. I also like how the PSP gives me a percentage of how much battery is left and approximately how much time is left as well. That way, I can plan accordingly. I can tackle this extra dungeon if I have enough, or quit at this save point because I know I won't be through it in time. The NDS doesn't have that feature. Once that bastard turns red, you have about 30 seconds to find a power source or save because it is going down.
Very, very true. I don't like how the DSi XL just has a statusbar like a cellphone. I wish Nintendo would have included a time-limit like Sony did with the PSP.
They have a DSi XL? And now the 3DS? This is starting to sound more like an arms race than anything... In all of my arguments I've always compared the original PSP to the original DS, or even the slim versions to each other, but never the newer generation with the DSi and PSP Go. To me, both systems are fail, and they are fail because if you look around, how many people do you see with a DSi or a PSP Go? Who knows what games are on those systems? I surely can't name any games on either of those. I don't see booming sales with either handheld (or their games). That's why I don't bother comparing them. They're not as successful as their predecessors and still the dominant handhelds are the predecessors, not the successors.
The PSPGo is shit. You can't trade in your games, and you have to pay almost full price for a game that is $10 on a UMD at GameStop. The only reason I bought a DSi is because I wanted a separate DS from my brothers. Then the DSi XL because I got it for $90. And the screens are freaking huge. Helps when I don't wear my glasses.
The DSi is an alternative for those DS owners who want better screens, more features, and don't really mind losing the GBA slot. I like the DSi. The PSPGO though, should really, definitely GO.
thinking about it, i find it funny that most PSP fanboys say that the DS is for kids, the games are childish etc. isn't it ironic that these are the very same people who enjoy playing with Walt Disney characters? Yeah, pretty mature stuff there!
