For the fun factor, I'd still say psp. I've played just about every good game on ds, and a few more, and I can honestly say some of the games I've played for psp already beat the top ds games. Besides, ds games are mostly turnbased rpgs, which I don't like, and there aren't enough good multiplayer games.
You're disregarding the unique jewels the DS has. And you're sugarcoating the many remakes that the PSP gets from a lot of PS2 games. I'll respect the PSP's library of quality games. But, the PSP just offers a gaming experience that could be well, recreated by other gaming devices, such as the PS3 or the XBOX360, except better, and the PSP is handheld, but what I'm pointing at here is that the DS is a unique handheld device. It's a futuristic handheld that offers a gaming experience that no other system could offer. Input for the DS includes Face Buttons, Microphone, Touchscreen, Motion Detection for some games, and just lately, Cameras. It's just something really different. That's what makes the DS much more fun for me, and why I voted DS/DSi in this poll.
i thoroughly agree with dancubs. PSP games are mostly ports of the PS2 classics. That's not a bad thing actually, but what is is that they do not follow up those with a plethora of great games that originate from the PSP itself. I know, they have monster hunter, patapon, dissidia, etc. but what else? the DS on the other hand, we have a lot of great titles that ONLY the DS can pull off. think about this: can they pull off TWEWY on, let's say the wii or gamecube? How about Ace Attorney? Would it warrant a console game if its only text-based? And to add to that, the DS also had a great list of ports from older systems like Final Fantasy III and IV (which can be regarded as total remakes, actually), Chrono Trigger (from SNES), New SMB, Castlevania, Advance Wars, etc.
Yes It would. It recently became a wiiware game. Also the psp has FFVII: Crisis Core, Castlevania Symphony of Night, Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles, Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow, Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories, Killzone Liberation, LBP, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, Metal Gear Acid 2, Resistance Retribution, Motorstorm Arctic Edge, Pixeljunk Monsters, Half Minute Hero, Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Field Commander, Dungeon Siege Throne of Agony, Prinny: Can I really be the hero?, Rockband Unplugged, Soulcalibur Broken Destiny, Beaterator, Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman, Chili Con Carnage, Manhunt 2, Tenchu Shadow Assassins, and more. Since the PSP can emulate PSX and GBA that opens up another huge library of great games (chrono cross, ff 1-9, chrono trigger, diablo, etc.)
You dug the hole deeper. All those games could well be reproduced on home consoles better. Tenchu Shadow Assasins, for the Wii. Rock Band, Mmmm. Metal Gear Solid? Yeah. Plus, many gamers are bashing at the Ace Attorney ports to Wiiware. Many gamers say 1200 nintendo points ain't worth a GBA port with Wiimote controls. So yeah, sorry.
A lot of DS games could be reproduced on a home console too. (Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros, Metroid Prime Hunters, GTA Chinatown Wars, FF Tactics A2, Guitar Hero: On Tour, Super Mario 64 DS, Dragon Quest IV & V, Animal Crossing Wild World, Tony Hawk's American Sk8land, Chrono Trigger, Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword, etc.) Plus It doesn't really matter if some psp games would be better on a console. Its a handheld, it's meant for on the go fun. You can't compare the psp to real consoles because they are not similar. At all.
Dude, you just don't get it. All those games you mentioned, 90% of those games has had success on other consoles before they got developed for the PSP. What's worse, the success those games had with the other console didn't convert when they translate it to the PSP. That's not the case with the DS. You have games like TWEWY, Nintendogs, JUS, Rhythm Heaven, etc. that are completely original, yet are very successful. And you just mentioned Ace Attorney being a WiiWare game. That's the thing, it's only WiiWare. You can't sell it as a full game, unless you put a lot more episodes per game or put a lot more innovations to the game, which in turn will not feel like its DS predecessor. It's just impossible to sell Ace Attorney as it is right now on the DS, it's just too small that people would probably feel ripped off.
the DS has surpassed the gameboy as the best-selling handheld of all-time! awesome! http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3177767
On one hand, I would personally like to dismember the fool who designed the PSP with only one analog stick. But on the other, the Nintendo DS doesn't have as much processing power. What to choose, what to choose...
I would say both becayuse the DS has 2 screens and it's touch screen. Followed by the fact that you can play DS games on your computer while PSP emulators are bad and you need a game pad. But the DS graphics suck while the PSP graphics are a killer. AN iPod Touch/iPhone is basicly a PSP and NDS combned but its smaller, etc. I play DS games on my PC and stuff. Not all DS games are bad. GTA: Chinatown wars is good, Mario & Luiji Bowsers Inside Story is good, there are good games and bad games. Overall, both hands down.
NDS! I guess not only because I don't have the so-called PSP but because it has touchscreen wherein necessary for the games i just like playing...
And you can't buy used games, and it takes a lot of bandwith to download games that are around 1.5 gb. Plus its kinda uncomfortable to hold. Oh and you can't hack it.
psp is a champion for visuals but in terms of overall gaming nds rules due to lots of titles whether new or remake...
It would be a toss-up between the two, but psp can't compete with flashcarts around. My edge card made my ds-lite a movie and music player. An internet browser. and it basically gets me every game on the shelf for free whenever i want. and to top it off it plays snes, and gba games.(theres a snes emulator that plays some snes games. including some incredible games such as 7th saga, earthbound, secret of mana, megaman x...... a lot of classics.) So once you get a flashcart the only thing psp has over ds is graphics. The psp graphics do kick ass, but graphics aren't everything.
