Actually, the DS is basically for GAMING ONLY, if you dont get flashcart or the DSi one, but DSi you'd get bord of recording sound, taking picture, listening to music, bc you'd have to go back to main menu to choose another one. But PSP, its much faster for that, the O button, goes back without having to shutdown the PSP to go back to the main. So my Opinion is that PSP is basically for App's like video, music, and pictures, not really any good games, bc For me the only one i actually play is Star Wars Battlefront Elite Squadron, bc it has Infrastucture online, but most ppl on at a time is only 40, so it sucks that way, but its fun. And DS is basically for gaming, end of story.
If you like shooting games for psp maybe go with Syphon Filter or Resistance Retribution (they both have great online play) also in my opinion psp games have SO much better presantation, from the storytelling, to the graphics, to the console-quality gameplay.
Personally those 2 games you mentioned aren't that great since I own them, and story telling have NOTHING to do with the console. Gameplay...it still has the essence of being an hand held, and believe me...with 100 psp games (half dumped by me) I ca say that not all games on psp are that great, sure ridge racers ain't bad, so is god of war, but they are still hand held games. But each to their own, I just prefer the retro touch that some ds games have since I been playing since the nes days.
theres no such competition in my eyes personally, i have had both but still only have the DSLite. The psp did keep me entertained for a year or two with some of there games, but some of the games were shortened down copys of the PS2 games, or even PS3 games with different names. As most of us now, Nintendo has been round longer than Sony with there Playstations, so the older gamers will like the NDS for the older games that got us started off in playing, (Zelda, Mario etc) but then they are just the "cartoonyer" type of games, where as Sony developed more "lifelike" games for game play, which either lead the "hardcore" no life gamers over to Playstation, or the ones that did it for fun, or prefered the "story lined games" stayed with nintendo, personally im a NDS fan but do like alot of games on the Playstation and the Xbox, but Nintendo an Sega will always have me there because of the "wider" variety of games they have to offer for game play with your friends, and not just "mainly" first hand shooters or things like that. Nintendo seem to feel more for there "Customers" than what they do there own games or the name they have. IF all people are going by is "Graphics" then i would say that they are not a "proper" gamer, but hey thats just my oppinion. now iv grown older since the "Nes" games (And before that) i would still rather have a few games of mario with friends then a First Hand Shooter because its to reppetative same thing different name half the time. so i would say NDS over PSP for me
So I now have both, and honestly psp is much better. The games are better because there are more 3d games, I find, you can watch movies on it without having to convert it to a weird dpg format that educes quality, and there are memory sticks. I've always liked memory sticks. Then on top of that, the games are more action based than ones for ds. DS I find is for the more casual gamer, with turnbased games and visual novels.
ive had a psp slim ! ita spretty cool going on the internet and the graphics or better then ds or dsi but iverall i chose DSI because the games i grew up with kirby pokemon and mario and theres an unlimited supply of free games that will keep me entertaind for more then 1 year or so lol XD so i chose Dsi !
LOL pokemons XD I find myself leaning towards my psp just for gran turismo and the emulators that work better Still, while I can play the old sam and max hit the road game on my psp...nothing beats pheonix wright on my ds
I have a DS Lite and I love it, it has a lot of great games and I met one of my favourite series thanks to my DS: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney But well, im getting a PSP Slim the next month, mainly because of Megaman Maverick Hunter X, Dissidia Final Fantasy and other games...also, i just love the feature of playing PSX games...Metal Gear Solid portable = <3
i have both a psp and ds, the last time i played on my psp was august last year, the last time i played onmy ds was like 30 minutes ago ds rules
I prefer DS because they are easily modded, all you need is a flashcart. PSPs are a bit harder, with all the downgrading and magic memory sticks and stuff, took me ages to finally understand it all.
PSP beat's the Nintendo younger child on graphics. but a far in videogames i recall... Nintendo DS Get the upper hand and if you have a r4 on it is beast because you can download the latest games and play whanever you want because it takes looooooong! to the battery to expire if you are playing with low light. But PSP also had great games on his library and also it has great hombrew capabilities and the option to play back all those legendary Playsation 1 games.
imho both have their own use... gamewise, it depends on what kind of games that you want to play, since everyone got their own taste... thats it i use PSP mostly for multimedia or e-book (i love reading!), and play some short games like fighting, racing, etc. while DS is mainly use for games (doesn't matter which one as long its fun), e-comic, and probably note something with DSorganize (PSP already got PSPDA, but its not convenient typing with button) so for me, both are level
Since they are both Handheld gaming consoles, I look toward the main purpose of why it was produced. On The Go Fun. From there, it's obvious what to go for. Nintendo DS trumps all handheld gaming consoles. Touch screen, Microphone, Camera, and for some games, Physics hardware. It's a whole bag of fun in your hands. PSP offers rather superior graphics, sounds and possible more immerse gaming, but I look at the fun factor. DS/DSi.
