So does that mean that you will choose a system that suffer lack of games so you can have limited number of great games to played on? Well, I don't see people use this as a point when the old Xbox was out and people keep saying the PS2 have more games to compete with it? Just my POV anyway. The guy mentioned Quantity coz someone just mention Quality. I dun agree that NDS is not on the quality side as well with the limited specs it does quite a wonder I would say.

Depends on how good the games are. I bought a PSP for the limitless number of PSX games that you can play on it, in addition to the PSP games. My primary reason for buying a PSP was to play PSX, PSP games are just icing on the cake. My second reason would be for FF7CC. For some people, FFT, FF7CC, God of War, Tekken 5, and the few FPS/TPS games are enough.

My primary reason for buying a NDS? I read about the CycloDS. It didn't matter if the games were good or not. I didn't have any specific game in mind when I bought it. I bought a Wii because of the TP hack...or now bannerbomb exploit. I bought an iPhone because of quickpwn and similar unlockables. I bought a dreamcast because of how easy it is to burn games and play them. No modding required!

I chose PS2 over Xbox because of Square, and the stable control scheme, the only one out of the three to keep their controller BASICALLY the same, not radically different each time they put out a new console. Microsoft's controller is basically the same as the PS type, moving the left joystick around and modifying the triggers to feel like triggers. The PS3 feels more like pedals. I find it uncomfortable to use the D-pad on the 360 though... I'm not even going to mention Nintendo's moves towards controller reform. NES --> SNES, good. SNES --> N64, wtf? N64 --> GC wtf again? Even the Wii is hard to get used to, but at least it is a change for the better. I initially chose PS3 because of Square, and I choose the PSP because of Square again, FF7, FF7CC, FF8, FF9, any emulation of FF6, FF1 and FF2. Not to mention Dissidia.

The NDS has FF3 and FF4, with not enough power to go past that, with the exception of FF6 in the near future if they ever decide to remake that.

Wow, now you are talking, lolx. But you do have good personal points on your console choices. And it seems you ARE a BIG FAN of SquareSoft. Well, thats not a bad thing, bt thanks a lot on ur lengthy explaination. Sorry I offended you though.

I had a psp before I knew about hacking it and I thought it sucked and I traded it in for a ds. I was happy with the ds because I had an R4(Free Games f*** Yeah)until I found out that you could hack a psp to have psx, dreamcast n64, gba emulators and many more without paying for extra stuff. Now I want my psp back.
In my lasting views I say that the psp and ds are on equal grounds for casual gamers but for me the hardcore gamer/hacker (or modder) I say that the psp wins just because its the more powerful system. Don't get me wrong I love my ds but the psp is just slightly better

I prefer PSP over NDS consoles as it has a larger screen and the games are of HQ quality graphics.
NDS is a good console as it has a lot of games to offer but most of its games are for small children and some of its RPG aren't created very well (it's rather disappointing) so far the one game i've liked in the NDS console is suikoden tierkries

Why do people keep on saying that the NDS games are for small children? Because their friends or the Sony Company told them so?

Seriously, this is the most common, and stupid, argument as far as this thread is concerned.

because over 90% of the games are for children. God, the only M-rated game that comes to mind is GTA CW...and possibly doki doki majo shinpan.
GTA hit the spot, but there needs to be more than just that.

if you think that only those 2 games are the only M-rated games on the DS, then you don't know jack about the entire system.

    Like the wii...

The ds is a "family" system, it has PLENTY of games...sure it seems like 90% of them are kiddy titles...

    But it's a good mix.

PSP-hardly any-Every month there is a new awsome ds game to try-psp try every six months for something ground breaking-and a year for something ground breaking...that IS good.

I own both-and while I play the psp more these day's-it's because I'm not a fan of rpgs...until the new pokemon is out :)

And with the psp I only use it to play games dumbed down from ps2 versions-and most of them are downloaded/dumped by yours truly...:)

    Also, there are a few M games as Zangief said-UMK-resident evil-ninja gaiden-Metroid prime-Touch the dead-Contra 4 (in a way)-metal slug 7 (same again)-Moon-Dementium...

The psp seems to have more-but truth is most of them kinda SUCK!

My psp is nothing but a hack whore (lol) for emulators and downloadables anyway...

MPH is Teen rated. So is Contra 4 and Ninja Gaiden. Same with Metal Slug 7. Moon, same thing.

Basically everything you just listed is Teen rated with the exception of UMK, Dementium and Touch the Dead.

So even out of this very small list (even if you count the Teen ones), compare it to the number of family titles.
    1000:1, or 500:1, or even 100:1, A lot:a few, Persians:Spartans

Games like Final Fantasy aren't technically "Family" games, but they're not technically mature games either.

so what you're saying is that you only play games where there's blood, gore, cursing, drugs, sex and alcohol?

if that's the case, stop playing games and go to a "hood" instead.

  17. insanecrazy07

    insanecrazy07 Well-Known Member

No, I'm saying that there's not enough of them. There's only a handful compared to hundreds of kiddie titles.

I play just about everything, minus puzzle games.

I have a DS and i personaly doesnt need a psp. Since I can download and play any Psx game I want at my own ps2.

But hell yah. WTF happened with DS.
It was normal a few childish games now and then, but some of then were fun at least (say pokemon or marios and cya).

But I get surprised on the number of crap we get nowadays. And most good games are japanese only.
