Personally, ARM with some low-level, is pretty easy. Depends though. ^And that's not the limit for the DS. The system doesn't only process the memory without the redundant data, which may contain offsets etc. unless it is removed.
Well then they should go over 9000!!! My point is that they should go all out, and not half-ass their games.
Then this point I will agree, there is a lot of games that did not go all full-out like most of the Jap games would do. But you make a good point on the PSP game size. This is what I meant so far, it's so much easier to have to space to do the programming rather to have a limited space for the game although the smaller res may help to lower the game codings but not to the extent of affecting the overall gaming experiance. The control scheme do feel forced at times but there are certain games that play better on the touchscreen. Disgaea is to show that PSP is capable but where is the effort. In NDS, Disgaea shows that NDS was weak but developer is capable.
Lolx, ofkos you could. I believe most of us here does that too as the console was not expensiv anyway.
People like me who can't afford a PSP, and are already saving up for something else. Though I'd much prefer a PSP for Online Play since the DS brick doesn't accept WPA2 wireless networks. Not to mention they discontinued the USB wi-fi connector thing. I don't mind not using wi-fi though, DS doesn't have a lot of games that make good use out of the Wi-Fi connectivity.
I don't use WPA2, I just have my router set to only accept the MAC addresses that I typed in. The DS doesn't make great use of the WiFi, but neither does the PSP...
Why that specific game? If I wanted to play games that only utilizes a touchscreen, then I'll play it on an iPhone, where you have no choice but to use the touchscreen, since there are no buttons, besides the home button which would end the program. I do perfectly fine with my NFSU on my iPhone. Everytime they make you use the stylus on the DS, you lose ABXY, Start, select, and R. 7 buttons with absolutely no function in exchange for one stylus. At least give these buttons functions, for example, Metroid Prime Hunters could use those buttons for more shortcuts, quick change weapons, roll into a ball, drop weapon, exchange weapon, whatever. It would lessen up the commands on the screen, so that you could see more. At least give me a setting in the options to assign what I just said to those buttons. FPSs are one of the few genres where a stylus makes sense since it gives a more mouse-like feel instead of buttons to look around with. Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword did a fine job of the stylus controls being able to hack and slash with the stylus, but it didn't always go in the first swipe, more like the 2nd or 3rd one. It's equivalent to the analogy of you buying a performance car with 6 gears, but you're only going to use the first three, and the other 3 are unusable. And you're only allowed to go up to 3000 RPM, because that's what I set the rev limiter to. I prefer games that let you use either stylus or buttons of your choosing, or both simultaneously. Something that's all buttons is a waste of the NDS's unique feature, and something that's all stylus is a waste of the rest of the design of the hardware. And anyway, I bought my PSP-1000 for $80. They're not ridiculously expensive.
timmy: There's touch. And then there's the possibility of adding buttons to the screen for functions. insane: You shouldn't really be looking at the bottom screen that much, stuff goes in the top
You have to accept this: God of War , Crisis Core and GTA owns EVERY FCKING GAME at DS. But ,there are 10-20 great games at PSP. DS has 40-50. Dats why people buy DS more.
First off, a large file size does not necessarily mean a better game. There are a lot of games 32 MB and under that get thrashed on my DS. I have a PSP as well, but really there is no contest. Castlevania x3, Chinatown Wars, The World Ends With You, brilliant puzzle games- puzzlequest, pic pic, etc. Mario Kart, Phoenix Wright, Trauma Centre, Sonic Rush, New Super Mario Bros, Animal Crossing, Advance Wars - I could easily go on. Check metacritic to see how many PSP games are sitting with scores above 75 vs. the DS.
Here we go with the whole "quantity" thing. Let's say you're on the PSP side and you roll a 6 sided dice 5 times, and I'm the NDS and I roll 500 times. Who's going to have more success? I can EASILY get 5 rolls that are 6s, where yours is only a 1/6 (the same as mine) of the time, but you might not even get one 6 in there. If you're looking for a golden ticket, you have a better chance of getting one if you scower the entire frickin' world buying every single chocolate bar (like the rich girl did), than just buying ONE chocolate bar and just by inevitability, because Charlie is the main character and we know he goes into the Chocolate Factory, Charlie gets a golden ticket with one chocolate bar.
