i think its all based on age... most kids would say its DS, especially the girls. but if its around teens, its a mix of both, if adults, its kinda the psp already. one thing that's awesome about the DS is the touch screen and the DS download play and of course, the nintendo based games. one thing thats awesome about PSP is the graphics. love the graphics. and the wide screen. and the hard-core action packed games )
I prefer NDS more because of it's touch screen and microphone and two screens. PSP isn't really that good imo.
NDS is best for me..sucks that now i have to 2 nds the first one and the lite oh wait its gonna be 3 consoles now cause im gonna buy a DSi too..well cant complain cause upgrading it gives us better gameplay new accesories and more techy stuff!
I'm gonna say the DS. I own a DS and have played a PSP, but I prefer the DS mainly because I notice a lot of more interesting games come out for the DS. I know the PSP has some amazing games, but not many.
I prefer the NDS over the PSP for the main fact the NDS has alot more games I like and I think there was 2 on PSP I like God of War and Crisis Core (which wasn't all that great but I liked it)
I have both a DS and PSP. Lets forget about games for a second and focus on what these things are; portable gaming devices. I know both are capable of more than gaming, but lets face it they are not mp3 players that happen to support games, they are first and foremost portable game consoles. As a portable console the DS wins for two essential reasons, firstly battery life, secondly and more importantly strength of build, the PSP is hardly flimsy but with an exposed screen plus an analogue pad on one side and a disk drive mechanism on the other, problems can happen. Moving parts are always a problem in relation to durabilty and for me the PSP has far to many for an item I would love to slip into my coat pocket. The DS does have build problems L & R buttons are exposed (though not as much as PSP) and the case can be damaged when opened aggressively. In saying that, I happily carry my DS about with me. As far as games go, both systems have great games, both have shovelware. Quality developers on the DS have had a much longer time to squeeze the best from that system than devs for the PSP. So I think the DS, as it stands, has more or less reached a software developmental ceiling. I think the PSP can be taken further than it currently has been, more can be squeezed out of it. The DS has few surprises left to give us and the PSP, potentially, has many. If I could only have one system I would choose DS, if Sony had built the PSP like the way they built the original rugged cybershot cameras I could be tempted away from Nintendo's little book of tricks.
psp because if you install custom firmware and a ds emulator with a few good roms from the best rom site it will be like a ds but better
Do I have to imply again that your an idiot? Something being the same as a PS3 would make it horrible, but the PSP isn't horrible. Not necesarily but usually yes Not only is that opinion but last time I checked the DS had more games overall as well. No, it will be NOTHING like a DS, it will NOT have two screens, it will NOT have a touchscreen, it will NOT have any better games, it will NOT be like a DS at all For the record I think both consoles are great, but the "DS haters" in this topic are posting the most ridiculous arguments
Personally, sometimes I wish for the graphics of the PSP. And the street fighter of the PSP, but that's not the point. Gamers now a days are usually strapped with the argument "mom and dad will only buy me one" so between the two, I'd pick DS. I don't know why, though. Personally, the PSP has more depth in their games, but I'm attracted to RPG's (for God knows why), so PSP/DS debate really depends on what you like.
DS wins for me. I love the fact that I can play so many games and each one is a little different with functionality. Plus, the games that I am into, are all done on Nintendo. Win. I'm not going to get involved in the debate about DS having more crap games, except to say, that the DS in theory was meant to be for kids aged 3+ right through to grandparents. It's Nintendo's way of being family friendly. So yes, we're going to rip shreds through crap games like Imagination, Nintendogs, Petz etc. HOWEVER, my boyfriend has a 6 year old boy who happens to absolutely adore these same games. So who are we to judge what is great and what isn't? The GREAT thing about DS is it gives us CHOICE! So much choice! And the even better thing about an R4 card is that I can download whatever I want for free from Romulation and I can find out first hand which games I enjoy and which ones I don't. Choice is the one thing I believe that PSP lacks. It has generic games that have generally already come out on other platforms like PS2 or PS3 and it's just changed ever so slightly so it's suitable for PSP. There's nothing special about that. That being said, I still enjoyed myself when I played a PSP a few times. I wouldn't buy one though.
Prefer the PSP graphics wise it beats the DS and for the number of uses the PSP wins as well The list of games it has and gameplay wise is very good too. I'm not saying that the DS doesnt have its good parts but I believe the psp is better
True the quality is way better for the psp but why is the ds sales higher? cause the ds is for kids, and the psp more for a mature audience so you see, kids don't buy their stuff, their parents do, and every kid wants a ds that's why the ds is still on top
I honestly sorta thought one of the reasons was that the ds is cheaper than the psp but you are right The Ds appeals for the kids and PSP is for more mature ones. Seems to me like it'll be a cycle though from PSP to the DS. I like them both myself.
since, you're resorting to flaming me instead of debating my point, im gonna give you a low blow myself.. nice grammar buddy. on topic: i disagree that the DS is specifically for kids. well, in some cases it is, but there are also tons of games that are directed to adults. for example, there's no way a 10 year old kid can solve Professor Layton's puzzles. Hell, they can't even play brain age because they wouldn't even meet the age requirement. I'm not sure sure, but maybe people buy the DS because it's actually cheaper than the PSP, aside from having a vastly better gaming library, of course.
What makes the PS3 so horrible then? The PSP is almost spot on exactly like the PS3, except obviously it's hand held and has different games. There's such a little difference between the two, I'm surprised you don't hate them both.
