Here is what I found out about the PSP Go for the US market as of June '09

    Releases Oct 1 for $249.00

    Download only. No UMDs

    16GB of internal memory

    Bluetooth Compatible

Slightly smaller screen, but with same resolution as PSP-3000

    Supports Memory Stick Micro (M2)

The Sleek PSP Go features a display that slides out to reveal its d-pad,single analog nub, and other controls. The handheld also ditches the clunky UMD drive in favor of a download-only game distribution platform. Sony says it is currently working on a way by which current PSP owners can play already purchased titles on UMD on the new PSP Go without a UMD. Despite the loss of a mechanical drive, the handheld is expected to have the same relatively low battery life as the previous version, delivering three to six hours of playtime. Going forward, Sony says all PSP titles will be released on both UMDs sold at traditional retailers and in downloadable format. The current PSP-3000 is not being phased out in favor of the PSP Go. The handheld debuts at $249, a price analysts consider too steep given the relative lack of new hardware or functionality.
The PSP is further supported by the new PC browser-based Media Go, which replaces the content-transfer features of the old Media Manager. Software should hopefully see a boost thanks to the fact Sony is lowering the cost of the system's development tools by 80 percent. This fall Sony is also delivering Sense Me, an application that builds music playlists according to your moods, and the company has already made its video store - including content from new partners like Showtime and G4 - available on the PSP

^"Borrowed" all this info from my current August'09 issue of Game Informer (pg15) so credit actually goes to whomever put it in there.

Just like the DSi i am not planning on buying this one either, at least not for a long time if at all.

If PSPGo doesn't have UMD, how much would the games cost? Hopefully they'd lower the price or what's the appeal of downloading games? If games are much cheaper via download and you can download Japanese releases as well, I think Go is worth it. Besides custom firmware seems to be loosing the battle.

It will include PSNStore, which you can buy retail games and something like AppStore, which you can buy small sized games or applications.

If you like indie games, PSP Go! is for you. I'm getting one but first I have to see if ppl are going to develop some apps for it.

Really? I highly doubt custom firmware is losing the battle as hackers can crack any game that comes out. I mean we had dissidia final fantasy USA 5 DAYS before it came out and able to run on custom firmware. Sony are truly done for unless they lower all their prices and make sure that every game is released across every region. That way we would be able to switch over and start caring. Anyways there's nothing on the Store that interests me. If there serious about bringing PS1 games over, they need to start doing import ones, and also get DDR on the store. That would be awesome :D

Releasing a game in another language takes time, but at least they should release Japanese games across every region so people don't have to wait who knows how long to download a game over the world wide web. I hope the download system won't be the pay a set amount every month type or something.

I also wonder if lowering the games' price down would happen. I mean they still plan to earn money, although download only versions should cost less due to no packaging (right?? I'm only guessing). But then who would buy UMDs? If they don't lower the price, who would bother to download if it's the same price? Kind of excited to see how PSP Go would turn out :)
