The PSP Go is not a good choice. The PSP 3000 does all the same stuff as the PSP Go, and plays UMDs. This is my pro/con list.

    PSP-3000
    Pros
    Big Screen
    Chance of hackability is good
    Plays UMDs
    Plays PSN store games
    Cheaper
If you lose your PSP, you don't lose your games
    removeable battery

    Cons
    Large
    Above 5.03 OFW - Unhackable

    PSP Go
    Pros
    Portable
    16GB built in memory
Cool Save feature (can save your game, exit to the XMB, play music, videos, etc., and resume game from spot left)
    Cool clock
    Bluetooth
    PSN games
    Faster game loading speed
    Possible UMD support from Logitech

    Cons
    No removable battery
    Expensive
    Battery Life sucks
    No UMD support currently
    pretty much unhackable
    small screen
    Analog stick in awkward position
No UMD2PSN support (like punching in a serial in PSN to download the game)

    BOTH
    Pros
    Skype
    PS3 Connection
    Almost a Portable Computer
PSN (has cheap 'minis' around 5 USD)

    Cons
    Crappy Wireless Speed
    Sony blocks hacks

I have the Phat (1000) and the 3000 and the Go. Personally I prefer the Go, IT CAN ACTUALLY FIT IN MY JEANS POCKET!
Everyone else missed out quite a few things about the PSP Go so I'll state it all here.

Cool things about the PSP GO

    • MUCH more portable
    • Plays HD quality videos
    • Best sound quality
    • Further Wi-Fi range
    • No need for the hastle of UMD's
    • Impossible to lose games, and even if you lose your psp itself you can re-download the game using your PSN :)
    • No screen glare
    • 16GB memory pre installed, upto 32GB extra, so 48GB in total.

If I missed out on some, just say so. ;)

Sorry Boba and everyone else who supported psp go but I ended up getting a 3000 because it was much cheaper and a lot easier to deal with.

I bought a PSP 3001 and its not TERRIBLY big. I just carry it in my bag and take it out to play when I'm bored. I think the 3000 was a great choice. The PSP go is good for when you travel alot.

Dude...all psp's can do those funtions (unless I missed out on something)

-Don't need UMD's-download games (for free if you want)
    -Bigger screen on older models
-How much further is the wifi?
-You can download games again...but you could do that on non psn game downloads (or with if you want)

Size does matter...if only for function.

I use a backpack and hold all of my systems in it XD

psp go is crap. the controls are horrible. hacking it is too much, and screen is too small. psp 3000 is a better pick. just find n download chick hen exploit.

    WEAR BIGGER PANTS ;D

My PSP can fit in my pants pockets. Not in the back pockets. Feels kinda awkward though, when I'm walking it feels like the PSP will break if you walk too fast.

And WRONG about the GB. It can only support 16GB extra memory, which is too much money for space that I personally don't use. If someone gave me a PSP Go, and I downloaded all the games I want now that I don't have in UMDs, It would probably take up 6GB.

WRONG about screen glare. PSPs in general have no screen glare. I don't really care if there was, I don't play my PSP in the sun.
[me=mikeac] is rocking in the corner of his bedrooms closet, playing Patapon.[/me]

If you lose your PSP, what are you gonna do? Buy another one? You also have to go through the hassle of redownloading your games. You still spend a shitload of money. And if you keep your UMDs in a safe place, you won't lose them. If you do, GET ORGANIZED MAN.

All PSPs have HD playing compatibility. The sound is just barely better than the old PSPs. Wifi range is STILL THE SAME (802.1b). Might as well use MediaGo.

Ya know how I know this? My friend let me borrow his brand new PSP Go after school. I told him to sell it.

With the paid downloads...you can download them again for free, like the virtual console on the wii.

But there is issues, for example I can't re-download my gran turismo exclusive cars again :(

    PSP Go's a scam.

"It's sliding!!! Yeah!!! Kewl!!!" So what?! It doesn't have a UMD Drive. So, what do I mean? No Kingdom Hearts. I believe it doesn't end on Squeenix.

I will save around $50 more and get a PS3 instead.

the GO is smaller and thats a good thing but no UMD drive kills the deal for me personally, i like being able to own a physical copy of my games and having to option to resell them.
