Nothing at all. Well I'm curious as to why only the fat's were affected, another time bomb by sony in the works to make us all get slims? You'd think the clock would be more or less the same in the fats. Well I've swapped to a slim now thanks to other issues...now here's another reason to have it
If it were a time bomb from Sony, the phats would be broken permanently, not just one day. The internal clock was programed to think that Feb 2010 was a leap year, it's a case of the hardware, they missed it and fixed it on the Slim model.
Nat, sorry to be a bitch... But I have confirmed that not all phat models were affected...only ones that went online were affected and stuffed. The 3 in question were 2 80gb pal models, they weren't online when the incident happened. One belonged to a co-worker who can't go online. Another belongs to a recent user. The third was banned by his parents (LOL!) from online access. So in conclusion...something online screwed around with the phat models that went online.
Ya, comparing the system clock to the PSN time, and coming up with a difference. And it happened not with just online games, but single player games which used the PSN to update trophies with the PSN account. And I heard it happened to some PS3s which tried to access PSN when you first started up and logged into your PSN account automatically.
So what can we REALLY class this as? Hardware fault, sony testing it's secret plan to make people switch to a slim, or a software issue? If it was a hardware fault...wouldn't the offline ps3's be affected?
I know, I didn't anything specifying it, I'm still right, if you tried to go online with phat model, it gave you the error. Since the phat says that it's February 29 and the PSN servers says its March 1st.. It's hardware, the reason why phats that were offline weren't effected is because they didn't have a conflict with the time and date on PSN's servers.
i went online. i was playing dead space and auto-log just pushed me through :\ i was freaking out after i got off since i didn't even know something was going on
