I consider myself beaten, Anand. :p

I know you're joking, and I don't know if I was supposed to be offended, but that gave me a good laugh. :D

    However, I DON'T SEE ANY 49/10!

    [me=jin_kazama]looks at last edit date...[/me]

    Darn it. :p

[me=jin_kazama]dresses as teacher (male, by the way), grabs his ruler and breaks it on a table[/me]

Hey, you two! Stop the off topic posting, NOW! :p

It's not really off topic, as Lion and Crazy are talking about the sounds, so it's... um... relatively relevant?

But - yeah, I'm really disappointed how poor the sounds were for the PS2; the first time I heard someone banging on a door, I thought I was going to die... it's not a banging, it's just an extremely loud noise with no actual definition that is unbalanced with the rest of the sound effects.

And comparing the PS2 and the Wii was completely out of line, I have no real idea what I was going for there - mark me a dumb*** and give me my medal.

    *sigh*

GCN has Dolby Pro Logic II. From Wiki: "In 2000, Dolby introduced Dolby Pro Logic II (DPL II), an improved implementation of Dolby Pro Logic. DPL II processes any high quality stereo signal source into "5.1"—five separate full frequency channels (left, center, right, left surround and right surround) plus one low-frequency-effects (deep bass) channel."

... You really have no idea what you're talking about, do you? Nintendo did not design Resident Evil 4, even if you're statement made the least amount of sense. It's up to the developers to create efficient code. Capcom made Resi4. Also, since we are talking about Resident Evil 4, it should be noted that the gamecube version looks significantly better. In the PS2 version, many textures were reduced, polygons were reduced, some lighting was removed completely, and many effects (including fire and water) were lessened or removed completely. Just thought you should know.

Compare the volume/surface area/whatever of the original Gamecube to the original PS2. Your power inquiry is void.

Don't get me wrong, I love my PS2 (I play it more than my Gamecube) but I just can't stand arrogance. Anyways, Jin, good review. Resident Evil 4 truly is a gem. I don't know that I'd say the lasting appeal is a 10 though, and there's are titles that look better on the PS2, and you can't really give them 11/10s ;). Still though, I agree; it's a great game.

the slim ps2 takes out all of the extra space in the original ps2 (and functions better IMO)

compare the volume to surface ratios now.

the slim is just one size too big to be a handheld and the gamecube is a giant brick.

and why did gamecube use smaller DVDs?
    underutilization again.

that may be the case that RE4 has better graphics in the gamecube version, but IN GENERAL, the PS2 games have superior graphics to games on the GCN.
MOST GCN games have underutilized graphics.

For instance, I've played True Crimes: Streets of LA and the PS2 version is well done, while the gamecube version is a lesser port, often times skipping and glitching through walls due to the small disc size.

    Another few instances:
PS2 Need For Speed Most Wanted compared to the GCN versions. PS2 has glare effects, rain, lighting, reflections, etc.
GCN versions have all of that taken out.

you say that capcom has horrible coding for the PS2. Agreed. but why would capcom remove features that can easily fit onto a full-size DVD?
logically, I think it would be the other way around; to fit it onto a disc half its size.

don't say I don't know anything. Most of my statements are either exaggerated because I like being facetious or they're based off of my own observations.

You use wikipedia as a reliable source, which is certainly not.

    (on-topic now)
My friend said that they only good Resident Evil game is this one, and on the GCN.
