Powerful Quake hits Japan

    I feel really sorry for everyone affected by this in Japan, I hope they'll be ok, everytime I see the videos on Youtube it always makes me think how lucky the UK is

    The japanese cope far better than the UK would. this country shuts down from 2" of snow. That said, we did have an earthquake here a few years back, I was the only person in my university who didn't notice it.

    Poor Japan.... Plus, some Japanese anime and manga was delayed OR Cancelled... :(

    Square Enix shut down their Final Fantasy XI and XIV MMO servers (located in Japan), they just extended the shutdown for another week. (customers are not being charged)

    Snap. Taiwan is safe but the nuclear radiation could spread as far as 2000 kilometers.

    there has been barely ANY radiation released. this is not chernobyl.

    The Times' report on the state of the reactors has seriously shaken me up.
    Worst case scenario they could go into full blown nuclear meltdown if they can't pump enough sea-water in to cool the fuel before it sinks to the bottom of the reactors.

    But as far as radiation is concerned, it's just barely above normal in Tokyo.

    Of course I could be a bit behind/misinformed on this...
