core 2 duo is an intel model. It is a dual core processor. The clerks tell you to buy intel because they're paid to say that. I have always had AMD processors when I've had a choice and they beat intel flat.

if core 2 duo is a dual core processor, then why are they selling a dual core by itself when they are the same. also?, and i only seen only intel processor in their store.

they have different models, a core 2 duo is one of them. Core 2 solo is single core (actually dual core with one core disabled). the Core series are intended for laptops and low power computers, while the pentium dual cores are intended for desktops.

ah, cool. thanks a bunch, I was getting a headache trying to find whats the difference between the 2.
Ok, last question for now, what is the purpose of those L2 cache? cause they have different sizes, like from 1mb up to 512 mb. I know the Gz now, the L2 cache puzzles me.

edit: never mind, found it, and in the funniest places, an intel site.

Well, I just finished building my new PC today.
    ASUS Rampage II Gene motherboard
Axtrom GeForce GTX 285 video card
    2 GB DDR3 1333 MHz (x3)
    Intel Quad Core i7
    1 TB Hard Drive
Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 OS
    Logitech G15 Keyboard

The entire setup was a little to big for my case, but it wasn't anything a hack saw couldn't fix. It had some trouble with the BIOS in the first run through but now it's pretty stable. It's a good machine.

UPDATE: Just now I was having tons of trouble getting it in it's case, and once it got in it shorted out.
So, I just said, "forget about the case!" Now it's just lying on the desk next to me. I'm using it now.

Dell don't make parts anyway, they just put their name on parts made by other companies.

I also use Speccy, but my CPU and GPU temperatures are often well above 63 degrees Celsius (I always have something heavy running in the background).

I just restarted my PC to be fair, it'd been on a few days and it gets all laggy after watching tons of Youtube videos.
