He isn't talking about once you type your password in from the log in screen, its about how long it takes to boot up from the moment you press the power button.
From my experience faster boot up times are Ubuntu > XP > 7.
EDIT: And you also forgot to say disabling services can make programs unstable, it's better to go to Control Panel > Admin Tools > Local Services to do it and when choosing the service, set it to Manual.

Finally got my dual monitors back
The black box on the right monitor is because my secondary monitor only supports up to 1024X768, and my native monitor looks best at 1280x1024

I can't help but add crap to my desktop.

 

Yeah, this is my own laptop, so it's disappointing when I only have a so-so background.
My toolbar is a little empty because I just cleaned it out.

Got it from there. The wallpapers there look nice, mainly the abstract ones look nicer to me.

EDIT: Just noticed they have anime wallpapers.

Update, was messing around with a program for skins, and changed my toolbar. Changed my background aswell.
