Re: Portal for Free I got Portal from Orange Box... but it's still awesome. I wonder if Team Fortress 2 will get free in the future...
Re: Portal for Free TF2 occasionally has free weekends, usually whenever they release a major update. I already have both games, though.
Re: Portal for Free ...So I'm guessing The Orange Box isn't out in Singapore? http://store.steampowered.com/app/400/
Re: Portal for Free It'll take me 5 hours to download it... I'll wait for tonight after a game is done... But I might as well not even try...It'll probably end up not running. =\
Re: Portal for Free We don't have any kind of orange box. The internet cafes have them pirated though. But i've played this game. its amazingly fun.
Re: Portal for Free Well damn. I've had Portal for ages. but still its pretty cool steam is giving it away. Hope its a start of a trend.
Re: Portal for Free I'll say what I said to my friend last night. Expect a lot more info on Portal 2 in the next month to six weeks. Leaks, the beginning of the hype machine, etc. Then the press releases.
Re: Portal for Free The hype machine started a while ago with the new Portal achievement, the radio stuff, and the new ending.
Ah, I missed Portal so much. I lost it with my old computer, but now I've finally tasted it again! First Photo Dojo, now Portal. This has been a great week.
Steam related thread so I'll post here. Steam is officially coming to Linux, not just rumors. http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=valve_steam_announcement&num=1 I'm guessing there will also be a free game with this too as it's kinda major in the Linux world.
That's almost all the time. All apps, all games...will end up crashing after using them for a while. By the way, what is Steam?
It's an online distributor of games along with something that runs in the background of your games so you have a consistent friends list, and you can go on the web while playing your games. It's also an online service akin to battle net. There's usually a lot of deals on Steam, make me happy.
So something you've done wrong on your PC makes it happen on every PC. What Natewlie said. It also provides DRM to games, since mostly all games on Steam actually need to go through Steam to run. Steam has all your gaming needs. You can even add non-steam games onto your list so your friends know what you're playing and you can access Steam while in-game but with some games (like ones that use an anti-hacking program) don't allow you to do that because it thinks Steam is a hack >: Valve <3
