Alright, we all know that having an orgasm feels good. This is pretty much a scientific fact. Pursuit of this has led to the flourishing of the porn industry, supported by the rapid expansion of the internet (and vice versa). But what of the consequences? Ladies and gentlemen, I propose that pornography is a negative influence on society. Allow me to explain how.

Let's start with this fascinating case of a boy dying after masturbating 42 times. How does this happen? Well, the direct cause of death aside, it's well-known that orgasm floods the brain with dopamine, the chemical that makes you feel happy. Of course, everyone wants to be happy, and masturbation is a quick and easy way to become happy. The problem is that people always want to be happy. People get addicted to happiness. Then they die after fapping like the Fist of the North Star. Pornography enables this behaviour.

Next up, the industry itself. Some argue that pornography empowers women (and men), but is that really the case? Certainly it seems to convey some sense of self-determination, but in the end these people are only being used as means to the end of getting your jollies. They become tools, objects, mere instruments. In attempting to reach unrealistic standards of perfection to fulfil some nerd boy's ultimate fantasies, they eliminate the crucial things that make them human. Their personality and character, often their very will is completely repressed in favour of fleeting "beauty". The pornography industry perpetuates the subconscious belief that women (and men) are nothing more than sex objects to be used to fulfil one's own pleasure. It's denigrating and demeaning.

For now, I'll finish up with this third point. This is a real meaty matter, pardon the pun, so I'll just link this article about porn-induced sexual dysfunction. Read it for yourself and draw your own conclusions, it explains things very well, with numerous sources.

    QED.

Warning: Playing Video Games Online Can Be Deadly

Australian dies after 'planking' on balcony, police say

Man dies in Brisbane planking stunt

    Woman dies after water-drinking contest

the lesson here, too much of anything plus stupidity always lead to death.

also every children masturbate. its part of growing up. hell even toddles masturbate.

its not phonographic fault if that boy dies because he have no self control.

blaming phonographic industry for that is like saying gun, drug, alcohol, video game and water kills.

Holy crap calvin it's almost as though Malaysia forgot to teach you how to read. Is this the fault of their third-world education system or your own failings as a student? I seem to remember you had some bloody retarded views on homework.

Look, I'll state it nice and simple so even you, hopefully, can understand. It's not about stupidity. It's not about "growing up", it's not about masturbation being an inevitable action or any of that bull. It's not about placing blame, it's not about dying, it's about what's good or bad for society. If you can't comprehend this then I recommend you leave this thread now and never return.

If you wish to debate in my thread then I suggest you actually try discussing one of my arguments instead of pathetically attacking a straw man.

Wow skippy, you sure got a sense of self-importance if you think you're the only one who matters. PROTIP: You don't actually matter

Anyway, I think I'll play the part of naysayer. What do I think? Well, I'd say it's fairly obvious - I love me some porn, and I'm going to refute your bullshit claims in a nice brief way before I go and join the RWC festivities at the pub.

Isolated incident. A single extreme case does not imply the norm, and although I'll not refute that some people have probably masturbated to death I argue that, much like a bombing, this does not reflect a more widespread problem.

When it comes down to it, the porn industry is fuelled by people who are doing what they want to do and serving a demand, much like people who make Pop-Tarts. Hell, I'd say it's even more self-deterministic than factory-line work in some ways. Plenty of porn stars have done interviews talking about why they do what they do. With that in mind, can the idea of degradation of the self even be applied here? They're aware of what they're doing and the nature of the need they are satisfying, and for the most part they're quite okay with it.
Furthermore, there's a thriving amateur pornography distribution network - it's called the internet. People quite willing to "degrade" themselves for no apparent profit! I'd say this implies a complete disregard for the entire concept of sexual degradation in the eyes of others, and I for one take full advantage of this quite regularly.

Once again, focusing on habitual overuse and chronic addiction to the masturbatory act. Now, that article focuses on the sexual dysfunction of men who evidently have sexual partners available but choose to supplement it with continued, habitual porn viewing. I hesitate to use anecdotal evidence, but since I'm in a hurry this will have to do: I know plenty of people, myself included, who will dramatically cut back on their porn intake when in a relationship. This signifies both a lack of addiction and recognition of the fact that one's sexual needs will be (hopefully) met by one's partner.
With that in mind, people without the luxury of a significant other (and particularly one Canadian whose housemate does have one who is admittedly rather attractive) have no choice but to resort to masturbation, and imagination can only take a person so far. Porn helps this along and makes the relief of sexual tension far more efficient and expedient. Feminists and prudish young women may not like it but people do have sexual needs that need to be fulfilled with semi-regularity, and in lieu of a willing partner there is no shame in relying on a good old porn video and one's own hand.

I don't know if this is something that's going to stop, even when we acknowledge it as being wrong. I think it's a deep carnal reproductive instinct. I don't actually see women as just sex objects but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy it in porn. When my dick's on switch is flipped is has a mind of its own, and it's sick. But on the surface, I don't believe or enforce any of the fucked up shit that flips my dick switch. And if we start trying to determine what is fucked up for people to enjoy and what they can and can't see, then I think it officially becomes censorship to a pretty strong degree. If everyone along the line is good with it, from the actors to the consumers then I don't see a reason to start busting skulls.

This is pretty interesting. My threshold for porn awesomeness has gone WAY up. A few years ago I used to jerk it to whatever random make-up plastered whores with milk-jug tits but now I need real dirty top-tier amateur shit. I guess I'm just waiting to hit that point where my dick stops working, though.

I just think masturbation is under-rated. I've been doing it for years and it's brought me lots of pleasure and I've yet to jerk myself to death.

Quote from Porn-induced sexual dysfunction source:
I don't find delayed ejaculation to be a problem for me. That means I can last longer in bed while maintaining my hard-on.

Oh, you guys won, eh? Can't say I'm surprised. Congrats.

Granted. My point there was that an addiction problem exists, though.

Mind linking one of said interviews? Sounds interesting. I can't imagine porn stars with the mental capacity to wilfully do their job for any reason much deeper than "it feels good" or "it pays well". Besides, despite what the stars themselves think, the viewers will see them differently.

Could it be that they just want attention? As that old rap song goes, it takes a lot of drunk daddies missing dance recitals before you decide to blow a goat on the internet for fifty bucks. You and I both know what kinds of things people will do for attention.

Interesting point, but is it really the case? Pornography allows detached instant gratification, but live partners are different. You've gotta make them feel good, too. You've also gotta put up with all the drama that comes with it. When you can "meet your needs" (and hey, here we are again, using people as tools) with such a convenient alternative as porn, it's not surprising that people would continue the habit.

This is complete speculation on my part, but what about religious people that are either celibate or abstaining until marriage? These people are taught not to jerk off, and I'm sure they can accomplish it to some degree. In their case, pleasure of the flesh is merely that - flesh. In other words, orgasm is not a need, but a want, and it's completely possible to go without. By the way, it's No Fap October, and I'm going strong.

That's a good point, and I disagree with censorship. However, don't you think it's possible that ridiculous fetishes develop because they're sexualised, and not the other way around? There's a point where this needs to stop and we've long since passed it. Porn breeds depravity in the name of "sexual liberation". Now we have people thinking it's okay to have sex with dogs.

Really? I think it's actually pretty overrated nowadays.

Don't forget "inability to be turned on by real partners, and sluggish erections". You might not get hard in the first place. Even if you do:

I admit having little to no sensitivity does suck. In matter of fact, having a hard-on for a long time is painful. But as a giver, I can live with that. All I care about is if my woman is satisfied, that's all.

That's pretty cool of you. But won't your girl feel the same way? Won't she be upset if she thinks she can't please you? Sex is a two-way street, which I assume is why religion forbids it until marriage. Not that this always works, of course, but you get the point.

Hmm... that's a tough question for me to answer. I actually get stimulated and pleased by the woman's feedback (in which I won't mention most here as they are too graphic to describe, except for the flushed face.) Probably not a proper answer to your question.

EDIT: I just read the FAQ you posted about people having sex with dogs. I want to fucking blow my brains out now...

Like a girl writhing in ecstasy on the end of your cock, carelessly spewing filthy prose until it escalates to rapturous moans while her vagina drips with moisture and her nipples harden like refined diamond rising from a mountaintop of flesh - the very pinnacles of female sexuality helplessly agonized? 8)
