agnostics are basically atheists that are too chicken to just come right out and say they don't believe in god.

Interesting way to put it. I'm so glad there is no political correctness bull crap on this site.
Me being an atheist, I somewhat agree.

most people do tend to worship that which they never see

I used to consider myself agnostic, justifying it by saying 'sure, if god gives me a reason to believe in him/her/it I've got an open mind' it took a little more self-reflection to just accept that, dispite that attitude, I was also more than convinced that would never happen...because there is no "god." and thus began my entrance into atheism.

...and there's plenty more political correctness bull crap on this site than you think.

I know this seems a little off topic, but doesn't destiny play a significant role in determining what is superstitious or imagined conincidentally?

Suppose there was a "God" and he just made us humans and he wanted to see if we would make it out alive in this entire universe (with a sane mind of coarse).

I think maybe it's because I don't believe in any specific god, I always get just a little bit irked that god is always referred to as a "he." I would think that if there was such a being who created mankind (and I assume the whole animal kingdom) it would be a sexless kind of a thing. after all, sexes exist naturally to procreate and why would a god need to procreate? it wouldn't.

even in the christian religion, angels are supposed to lack genitals and thus sex as well, existing as sort of sexless, beautiful creatures, so why is god a "he" and the "father"? :-\

i think the bible was written to teach people some lessons, but it got out of hand and a religion exploded everywhere from it.
    that's my theory anyways :p

No the bible was not written just because of its nice stories. The bible was written to record the Human knowledge that Jesus and the other disciples gave us. It also contains the old testament which is part of the Hebrew bible.

The bible(King James 1611A) is a guidebook in essence.
If you disagree, read it, with a Strong's Concordance.

Try Leviticus, for the health laws.
Though it was written for the Levitical priesthood, it holds a lot of weigh to this day.
