interesting. shinies are supposed to have the same stats as normal ones (except in older gens) but could be luck. anyways... i'm not into that kind of strategy building; i just play for the hell of it. the only things i take into mind are EVs and nature, and occasionally IVs if i can get to the the IV calculator.
My router is one of the few that cannot be changed without opening it up and playing about inside it, i'm getting a new one soon v.v' I encountered 5 shinies so far Rush, I only have 3 of them but still Platinum is one lucky game
damn, i've yet to see a SINGLE legit shiny from the game (not real players; obviously someone has to have one some time), and i've been playing for thousands of hours since the Silver days
I've never encountered a shiny in any pokemon game, and I've played Red, Yellow, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Emerald, Fire Red, Diamond, Platinum and the Enhanced Edition of it.
i'll probably end up trying to chain for a shiny sooner or later =P funny though. one of the only shinies i've had for a short while was Snorlax, but in R/S/E the shiny and normal looks practically the same... so yeah
i've found quite a few legit shinies before, even remember the colours blue zangoose green misdreavas gold swablu green zubat green heracross thats all i think
Don't worry, Rush, legit shinies will show up eventually - I didn't see my first one 'til Emerald. My team! Absol (Super Luck) - Psycho Cut - Night Slash - Stone Edge - Shadow Claw Arcanine (Flash Fire) - Flare Blitz - ExtremeSpeed - Crunch - Thunder Fang Glaceon (Snow Cloak) - Blizzard - Hail - Aqua Tail - Yawn Luxray (Rivalry) - Thunder Fang - Toxic - Iron Tail - Superpower Lucario (Inner Focus) - Aura Sphere - Dragon Pulse - Flash Cannon - Dark Pulse Leafeon (Leaf Guard) - Grasswhistle - Sunny Day - Solar Beam - Magical Leaf
And slowking, and kindra, etc, etc Anyway, I've been reading about all these people obsess about their pokemons stats... well I prefer to use brute force when playing. No defense attacks, high attack strength, it all works for me Here's my party: lvl 58 Giratina lvl 58 Luxray lvl 66 Infernape lvl55 Rhydon lvl 56 Gyrados lvl 45 Charizard
I finally got a decent impish Skarmory, with Keen Eye this time, and yes I have Brave Bird on it as well. I was debating on getting Drill Peck over Brave Bird and I decided to go with Brave Bird. My Staraptor is right there, and I can handle the little bit of recoil with Roost. It took me 4 boxes of eggs to finally get one with all of those present. I haven't checked IVs yet. and everyone has seen at least one shiny, Red Gyarados. @Wintrale, do you have enough sweepers? I personally like Swiftswimmers, or the Rain Dance + Thunder combo for weather warfare. My strategy so far (in the battle tower) has been spike and sweep. That third layer of Spikes helps by not having to really set up my sweeper with Calm Mind, Nasty Plot or SD, and I get to see what they have. Plus, with Spikes, if I don't see them take damage, then I know that they are immune to Earthquake, which is easily fixable. My old Skarmory was lacking in...well every stat. I might get myself a specialized spiker (Toxic Spikes, and SR, or just SR), and replace my two sweepers with just one mixed sweeper and roll with Skarmory for utilizing the 3 layers of Spikes and Whirlwind. I must say, Azelf is one badass sweeper. Nasty Plot + whatever usually kills in one hit, although it's the first to die compared to Skarmory or Garchomp. EDIT: I just beat the battle tower. Pretty epic. I won by 17 HP with my Azelf.
Yeah, Absol is a potent Physical Sweeper... With Super Luck, she gets critical hits very easily and her four attacks are varied enough in terms of Type to ensure I can get a Super Effective hit on most Pokémon (we're talking 10 out of 17 Types). Lucario is my Special Sweeper, being similarly Super Effective against 10 of the 17 Types (different ones to those Absol is super effective against, as well, which makes sweeping a breeze). In terms of "weather warfare", that's where Leafeon and Glaceon come into things, both gaining particular boosts from their respective weather effects while also proving to be pretty flexible. Arcanine and Luxray are both just there to beat Pokémanz up.
Hello, I fully finished Pokemon Platinum already! Gym 3 uses FIGHTING type Pokemon! Here is the chart of Pokemon that you would want in your party: FLYING PSYSIC GHOST...that's what I know. Keep to your foe's weaknesses. Don't just stick with one weakness, the Gym leaders are known to have counter-measures. I.E. I think she has a Lucario so PSYSIC types would become useless, but FYLING types would still have an advantage!
you wanna know how uber? The Computer is a Cheating Bastard scroll down to the Pokemon section not only that, their Pokemon have insanely high-end IVs, are most likely fully EV trained, and almost ALWAYS carry your most deadly weakness.
Arcanine is useful for Extremespeed, meaning that you can spend those EVs somewhere else other than Spd. I was never a fan of Luxray really...My electric sweepers are usually special sweepers (for taking out Skarmory and Gyarados, both good in Def, not so much SpDef) and Luxray is mostly Attack based. Equip Absol with the item that boosts crit chance, and nickname it Haxsol. It's good to have good type coverage offensively, but what about defensively? Most of your team is really vulnerable to Earthquake, which 9 out of 10 physical sweepers have. Assuming that Garchomp remains in OU and not Uber, my CBed Garchomp wouldn't even have to switch out of battle to wipe your team. No levitators, no fliers. I still play Garchomp in OU simply because by taking him out of OU, all of your pokemon will have to redo their strategies, maybe a little less Ice Beam insurance, then because they don't use Ice Beam as often, the counters to the Garchomp counters have to redo theirs, and the chain continues. I'll wait until they get a stable tier list going, updating all of their strategies as well. EDIT: Also, your Leafeon is completely screwed by only having Grass moves. I always, always, always have a Fire move because Grass types are going solo now, without Poison so Psychic isn't always the end-all move. The setup for Sunny Day is a clear giveaway of what's coming and provides a free turn to use Nasty Plot coupled with Flamethrower. Using a flying type on Lucario does neutral damage. Take that Staraptor and use Close Combat. Problem solved. One reason why I never use Lucario...damn steel type is more of a burden than an advantage. I just beat the 49th level of the Battle Tower. I have noticed that their Twaves suck, and you almost always get full paralysis. Their Double Teams are hard to hit when they stack 3 or 4 of them. Thank god for Spikes. Thank god for Whirlwind. I've never seen them use an OHKO move on me, but I never had to worry since my Skarmory has Sturdy. 6 out of 7 matches, I never had to switch out Skarmory, either because I never went into the red, my Spikes did the most overall damage, or they just didn't have proper type coverage. I whittled down a Golem with Brave Bird and I would save a few HP to whirlwind out so when it comes back in, it automatically dies, while still giving me the option to pseudo haze any setup they were trying to do. DDing Dragonites! I don't understand the third point though. When you enter, all of your pokemon are normalized to level 50.
that point only applied to the 3rd generation Battle Towers. and yea Paralysis and Confuse always hit you more, them less double team has a bigger effect when they use it. ridiculous
I used choice band with outrage, and so I would get confused more often and those bastards would stun spore me so that pretty much meant I never got to attack. ...and then they would use double team. really annoying.
