V3 patches have still random freezes like V2. :-\


These games have the weirdes AP I've ever seen.
I don't believe there will ever be a patch that fixes all those issues for emulators.
On my flashcard aren't any problems...

Thank you very much Jhon! I've tried for over a week to play Pokemon SS on DeSmuME but no matter what I tried, it always froze after about 15ish minutes. With no$GBA 2.7a I've played for about an hour and a half and no crash whatsoever! The only thing that happens when you switch zones (when gamescreen turns black for a moment when you climb ladders/enter buildings) is that your character and pokemon turn black, but it returns to normal when you change zones or enter game menu.

I don't really play through the game, I assume it's just emulation glitches that I have no controll over.

I got whitescreen right after leaving Sprout Tower in Violet City.
It would be great if you can fix that issue!

Which emulator are you using - DeSmuME or no$GBA?

I've updated the code and am currently testing the new code on DeSmuME (v0.9.10 svn4636 x64) (am currently in Azalea Town just before 2nd gym) and will post settings etc on here when done. I assume the same code should work for no$GBA.

 

Use a copy of your save file, and rename to .sav now you sould be able to use it for no$gba battery folder , if not then you can convert a copy of save here http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php

Then you can test without having to go though it all again.

This works on the real hardware and R4 original with renaming nds saves from DeSmuME saves

 

I played on DeSmuME. I was able to play 1 1/2 hours without crashing. But then suddenly I got a white screen.
I'm looking forward for the updated code, thanks!

My NDS is in a pile of junk. Broke it. I'm going out to the shops tomorrow to get a new one.

Here are the settings for Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver (E/U) on DeSmuME 0.9.10 svn4636 x64 :


Start DeSmuME, open game and select the same Emulation, 3D and Sound settings as above.
Then Click Tools, Cheats, List, Action Replay and enter the above code. Give it a name like Fix in the Description Box, click Add then Save.
Reset DeSmuME (Ctrl+R) and start Heart Gold/Soul Silver.
As soon as you get the option to save, DO SO!
Reset DeSmuME (Ctrl+R), load new save and PLAY!!!!
(I have also included the in game options and rom-tool details)
