hi guys i have 7 badges, however when i try to get Ho-Oh after defeating team rocket in Goldenrod it simple doesn't appear at the top of Tin Tower..


ok to make my post helpful too, here is the way i'm playing:
1- used MY Spanish firmware + the two bios files
2- used the patch(english + freeze)
3-Patched the rom with endrypts advanced

everything is fine no problems AT ALL (i was experiencing the freezing but after the patch its gone).
i also save and close the emulator after that so it'd create the save file.

Thanks for the the upload, Rob. The only problem I have with this is saving. When I get past the part where you get the egg the game doesn't save anymore. I keep ending up in my home town.

 

I am having trouble with freezes and not being able to save. I am on a Mac and I unable to do some of this patching. Can someone upload a fully patched(including arm7) version of Soul Silver or Heart Gold?

I still can't run the translator patch. To whoever posted the patch or knows anything about the patch, what do I need to run it?

To battle Ho-oh you must have the Rainbow Feather,have all 8 badges and have the 5 Kimono girls in the Surf House in Ecruteak defeated(you can only battle them after you have defeated Claire).Hope this helps

 

I too am in "waffle's" position.

When I started a new game over Rob's game, the game worked fine, but I found that I couldn't save.

And while I certainly don't speak Japanese, I do know how to pronounce katakana and hiragana, and running it through a pretty rough translator... I think that it's telling me there is already a save game, therefore I cannot save. This may not be the case, but any help with any solution would be fine.

Edit: When I play over Rob's save game, I can play to my heart's content and saving/loading works fine.

 

My game freezes at random places... I've applied the patch already, and I don't experience problems that you guys are having with saving. Entering or exiting buildings, I get a black screen; while running, the game froze (once); and just now, at the start of a battle the game froze. This occurs at random times, and does not occur at a specific place (so probably not due to protection).

Anyone experiencing the same problem I am having?

another good tip is updating your sound card drivers, i don't know why but that improved my game speed a lot and it may fix your problem ;D

You have to go into emulation options and set up these exact things:

Setting up is easy! While the emulator is open, click
*Options* then choose *Emulation Setup*. You will then see a setup box with different settings. Now change these settings:

*Emulation Speed, LCD Refresh = Realtime/2, Auto*,
*Reset/Startup Entryption = GBA BIOS [Nintendo Logo]
*GBA Mode = VGA poppy bright*,
*GBA Cartridge Backup Media = AUTO or try FLASH 512KBytes*
*NDS Cartridge Backup Media = AUTO or try FLASH 512KBytes*,
*Solar Sensor Level = Bright Sunlight*,
*Sound Output Mode = Digital Mono*,
*Sound Desired Sample Rate = Low 10kHz*.

Change only the settings I pointed out. Do not change the other settings and just let them be. Next, click the *Controls* tab (Do not exit yet the setup box) and set Joystick/Gamepads to Disabled then if you're done click the *ok* button. Now click *Options* and REMEMBER choose [Save Options] to save the emulator settings. This will make you not to setup again in the future. After saving the settings, and one note:

after running the game, DON'T EVER, I repeat EVER *Reset the Cartridge* on the file tap to reset the rom with the saved settings. cause that will cause the FATAL error and you won't able to save correctly as if the freeze problem eventually did happen again, Immediately close the emulator not RESET.

it contains pokemon heart gold, pre-patched with the translation patch, freeze patch *guess it's not working*, and the fixed patch that prevent the occurrence of black screen .

 

I don't think it's a glitch.. They might of made it so that Ho-OH only comes after you beat the elite 4. Try defeating the elite 4 I guess or beat the 8th gym leader.. What's her face.. And see if either or works. If not I dunno what to say :/

Yeah hopefully a patch for the black screen that happens every 40 minutes gets fix. I don't mind it, but you can easily lose track of time when your playing such a addicting game that is improved with the love of a super awesome game from the past! =D *hugs ds* I can't wait till it comes out in english ;D

 

Zey: I don't think his problem is an emulator related one.

 

I'm playing with this patched Rom right now, and I guaranteed that there's nothing wrong with it except the freezing issue

 

I have a question will Wi-Fi still work?

 

Have you tried saving over an existing game?

Because that's what we are talking about.

I can save fine too on Rob's game, but when I attempt to do it on my own, I get a long Japanese message.
