Just because you own it, doesn't mean you can dump it and give it to pirates, that's still illegal.

Shut up, you can talk crap because you're not the one trying to dump the game, It's easier to post crap when you're not the one being sued, which could happen to him if Nintendo catches him

Shut the hell up. If he does it, its fine, i'm warning him

I'm yelling at all you idiots who are quick to get your damn game that you would possibly have someone get sued because of it.
People are impatient as hell, everyone was fine when Bahamut and Xenophobia dump it, just wait for one of them to do it.

In terms of legal issues, say Nintendo DOES want to sue him for dumping the rom. What do they have to do? Well, first, all they have is his online handle, JermsTheLion. First of all, they have no way to prove he actually did dump it. I don't think places like MediaFire or Rapidshare tend to log who uploads what. But even disregarding that, what can they do with his username? A quick google search gave me his real name, within reasonable doubt. So nintendo has access to that, too. And while it is within reasonable doubt to me, a court would most likely not agree with that. Legal research is not "I google your name and you are him!" What they would need to do would be contact romulation, and demand the IP of this poster. I don't exactly know much about the technical side of Romulation, but because they host all of these ROMs already, I'm going to assume that they are not hosted in the United States. Besides, don't you think Nintendo would have *already gone after Romulation for any other ROM posted?*

If I am correct that Romulation is hosting overseas, or even maybe in Canada, then unless Romulation feels morally obligated, they have absolutely no reason to give Nintendo his IP. And if they DO, which is HIGHLY unlikely, then Nintendo would need to demand his information from the foreign, offseas ISP who ALSO has no legal obligation to do so.

So I'd say its pretty safe.

    *sigh*

The stupidity of some people in this forum surprises me.

Nintendo does not give a single shit about the individual that puts the game online. People do it all the time, none gets caught, because Nintendo understands that it is bound to happen.
Furthermore, any lawsuit they would make would end in a big loss for them since it is perfectly legal to host ones own ROM. If I rip my own ROM and put it on my harddrive, it is legal. If I rip my own ROM and put it on MediaFire their harddrive, it is perfectly legal too. The only one that actually downloads the ROM (with or without his/her own physical copy, you always have to rip your own ROM) is subject to the copyright laws. You can trust me on this, I did not study (American) law for four years because I am an idiot!

In short, moralfags and scaredfags are morons.
Dump this and be praised, or do the opposite and be dumb.

Nintendo got one guy to settle out of court on a legal battle he probably would have won anyway to scare the shit out of a bunch of kids on the Internet. They don't have the time, resources, or balls to do the same for every damn game they release--they took a risk on trying it even ONCE. They can't do a damn thing to stop us, so they're counting on us being scared shitless so they won't have to.
