    My sis, who was 10 at the time trained her starter to level 44 and another Pokémon to 16 when she only had one badge!

    Was I the only person, then, who found the entire Elite Four and even the Champion, a total cakewalk in Ruby and Emerald? Blaziken dominated everyone on both games, so I didn't even need any other Pokémon. Hopefully Heart Gold and Soul Silver will be somewhat more challenging in that respect. Either that, or I'll finally need to go and see what all the fuss is about at the Battle Frontier.

    Pounding anything and everything with your one, trusted, Pokémon. That's stupidly fun. Nowhere near as easy, either, I should point out, since that one Pokémon is all that's between you and whiting out. ;)

    Typhlosion can dominate G/S, the only trouble you have is with the dragons near the end, but Suicine can take care of them.

    Hmm... Wonder when we'll get a Fire/Flying starter, or a Fire/Dark one. The latter of which would be insanely badass if it were a Dragon-looking Pokémanz.

    You sort of do get a Fire/Flying Starter, Torchic (it learns some flying moves rather early on)...and I guess you could include Charizard by technicality. I remember when Charizard could learn Fly starting with Pokemon Yellow. It saved some space and I got rid of Pidgeot.

    However, I think the Fire/Fighting combo is really good, especially with the addition of a lot of Dark and Steel types to bash on.

    I've always been biased with the fire starters, because there is always a shortage of good fire pokemon throughout your quest. There's always water pokemon EVERYWHERE where there is water, and grass types just never appealed to me having poison as a second type.

    Typhlosion is really the only decent pokemon that is pure fire. Rapidash sucks.

    guard your words,rapidash can be badass when used properly.but i agree typhlosion is awesome!

    the first pokemon i ever played was the silver one,and i remenber passing whole days playing it,i even completed the pokedex(with help of friends,by changing and lots of things)... i was thinking if something could happen when the pokedex was complete

    Fire/Dark = Houndour -> Houndoom
    Houndour can be as good as a starter

    Fire/Flying = Moltres
    But that's a legendary so it sorta sucks

    Nah, I meant for new Pokémanz... I'd like to see Fire/Dark, Water/Fighting and Grass/Psychic Starters in the next Generation.

    i do agree with the fact that they need more fire pokemon. i mean, aside from legendaries, in Sinnoh the only fire types were the starters... i've always thought it would be interesting to have a half dragon type starter, but it would imbalance the game pretty bad, so yeah.
