I still like the games but the cartoon is the problem its putting people off the games and i think to make the games better is to stop making most of them animal based

True, pokekid, but I have the feeling that the reason why they don't base Pokes on stuff like mythology is so that they don't have any religious controversy or something like that. I doubt parents, especially Christians, would take Nintendo kindly to a Pokemon based on Lucifer.

Its the same story repeated in every game, the only new ideas in Pokemon games are from hacks

its just a money making game now. sure, it was before but when it first came out it was more innovative than anything. Now instead of them trying to figure out how to make the game better they think "how can we make more money"...which is why the stories are all the same

when there is a huge sales for a game or product, that means people like the game or product. this means a continuation of that game or product. if you want and hunger for sex, then your wife/girlfriend should stop offering sex? give her my email, i'll service her for you.

i believe it's doing well. you'll need to look at those sales charts of the games. if the game sells high, that means there is still demand for it. i never got into the world of pokemon but i see the interest in it, a world full of creatures that can become your "virtual" pet. imagine having a real life pikachu as a pet. that sounds very fascinating.

that was a bit rude and uncalled for man. i know what the sales charts look like, i'm not ignorant. It was merely an opinion based on the idea that they are not putting any effort into making it any better than the previous releases and that the sales are so high because you have new generations of kids who never played the old ones, who are buying the new ones thinking its the best pokemon game ever.

again i know if something works stick to that formula, its common sense...i'm just saying, what are they really doing to please the long time pokemon fans that have seen it all before (multiple times at that). I am really hoping Heart Gold and Soul Silver will really deliver a lot of changes as people are claiming.

I would say falling after Crystal. For me, 3rd gen was rather boring.

With the DS Wifi capabilities, the limitation of only battling someone next to you is gone.
The major selling point of 4th gen is that you can battle anyone online.

Everyone in this thread is judging the games based on the single player material. That's like judging WoW on PvE, and completely ignoring the PvP aspect.

After playing my first few Pokemon games I got bored and they soon went to the back ny boxes of games. Now its slowly collecting dust... CRAP!!! I left all my good pokmon in that old game...

My problem with Pokemon is as follows:

When I played Diamond I thought, "wow, this is really innovative!" and I enjoyed it until around the 3rd gym leader (which took me several hours to get to). So next, when Platinum came out, I thought, "Gee, there are so many Pokemon fans, i'll give it another shot." My next thought was, "Wait, this is Diamond, not Platinum"

    It actually was Platinum.

Game Freak can't add a few new features and monsters to the SAME EXACT GAME and expect me to like it. Sure, the Pokemon formula is good. But Diamond and Platinum are almost the same exact game! The online battles suck unless you put in 100+ hours of singleplayer first (which I refuse to do) and the trading is frustratingly bad. And it could be so good!

If they just put in a new story, I would be happy with this game. But they didn't! No other games can pull of this kind of crap and still pull in good sales, why do we let the Pokemon franchise do it? (Well, we at Romulation don't, if you know what I mean).

They did change around quite a few things in platinum, most notably the battle frontier, but other small things as well, like not having a MAJOR gap between badge 2 and badge 3.

They kind of did put in a new story, but kept the general idea the same.
I'd have to disagree with you on the point that Diamond and Platinum are the same. They really aren't. If they were, I wouldn't be disappointed that my Diamond cart is the only one that can connect to PBR and not my Platinum rom...By transferring all of my Platinum pokemon to my legit Diamond cart, I lose all of the rotom forms, making that a useless pokemon, I lose Giratina-O, and Shaymin-S.

I've only got about 20 hours clocked in the singleplayer section, 35 hours clocked battling or waiting in the wifi room to battle.

Trading only sucks if you have no one to trade with...or if you have that need to trade. The majority of users here use pokesav so there is no reason to trade since well...you can just make what you want.

Like I said before somewhere on this forum...It's not the single player aspect that you should be worrying about. It's the multiplayer aspect that makes these games shine.

So why not do a multiplayer story mode like in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles or Soma Bringer? I know they have a Co-op mode in the Battle Tower, but it just seems kinda bland.

I'd love to have a co-op or an MMO style gameplay, without all of the MMO bullcrap. I'd just like to see other people roaming around pallet town, searching in the grass, defeating team rocket, like you would if you were actually in the pokemon world, and you could have the co-op part work where you and a friend or whoever, encounter a nearby NPC trainer and you do a double battle.

    buuuuuuuut that's never gonna happen.

I enjoyed all the games. Each one had a little more something to give than the last. Except for Diamond. That was the worst one for me. In my opinion all the new pokemon there sucked. I ended up using old gens instead. Though Platinum was not a dissapointment.

As for the anime, the first season was the best and they should have stopped there.
