pokemon games: growing or failing

I think theyre failing. I dont MIND the new DS games, but theyre getting a bit too tedious. For the past seven or eight years, catching and training pokemon is getting a bit...repetitive, they havnt really added anything special in any of the series, just new pokemon and a twist on the storyline NOT TO MENTION THAT IN EVERY DIFFERENT SERIES THEY ALWAYS HAVE AN EVIL TEAM WITH A STUPID NAME, WHY NOT JUST KEEP TEAM ROCKET. Anyways, Team galactic is stupid .


In my opinion

 

Well its not growing old with a lot of people, selling to a near 15 million copies of both Diamond and Pearl the latest games.
But it does get repetitive very easily. Yes there is a new 100+ batch of Pokemon, yes the story is a bit different, a new region and some minor tweaks. But when you think about it it has all been the same, they have never tried to implement a new idea to the game. Its always the same idea but expanded a bit.
Try making a new idea such as exploring all the regions, change the battle system, create character. I don't know but Pokemon should add features that make it customisable, not too linear.

I loved Crystal thats my favourite game of Pokemon. Added something new and changed the whole experience of Pokemon with the help of Gold and Silver.
Pokemon Yellow doesn't really count as a Pokemon game, more like a merchandising game, to make people watch its anime. But it did add a "Look after Pokemon" feature.

 

Crystal was by far the best, and my most favourite, followed by Yellow in my opinion.

 

they're ruining themselves with the event pokemon that can only be gotten by a limited number of people worldwide, limited by location to events.

There's too many to remember, lots of decent moves and strategy's. plus with so many makes it harder to actually complete the game also easier to find one you like.

They keep you from being able to rebattle gym leaders so you're pretty much limited to trying to find people to rebattle you after getting badges or rebattling elite 4. Personally i'd have liked to "replayed" the story with a bred pokemon, without hacking to change starter after starting new game.

The GTS is full of crap people wanting rare pokemon for lv2 common things, and no "kadabra asking for kadabra so when traded they both evolve. idiots."

They need to update the story and battle system and should have made the underground for wifi instead of local communication, not everyone has tons of friends to sit next to for an hour or more playing. if you dun got the friends, the feature is useless.

shiny's should be 1 in 7,000 instead of 1 in 8,???

There is rumor of a pokemon platnium coming out. when will they just release a version with all pokemon on it, or actually make it so you really need the other version to get any signifigant number of pokemon, with the GTS and non-idiots asking for real trades... it'd be easy to get the missing ones.

well, i'm nowheres near little. I just enjoy simple games. plus you can battle via wifi and its not like some button smashing fighter.

Been with pokemon since red/blue. bought all of them. lost most, downloaded all of them, plus cracked ones like chaos.

edit: without information everything is speculation. I wasn't sure of the next release.

 

Shiny's are 1 in 8, honestly when I played Diamond I searched around everywhere for one. Couldn't find a bloody shiny at all!
Platinum when it comes out will be the same as stupid Emerald, just adds a new battle tower, the same enemies and a new costume!
You also have to take account for that mostly is young kids who play Pokemon so there will be people offering a Level 5 Weedle for a Level 100 Palkia.

It's not that pokemon games are getting any worse, it's that they're staying pretty much the same...to us, that's bad because it's no longer original. But as long as there are schools packed with future gamers, there will be a target market for pokemon. It may not be as big as it was when it came out, but that's because we outgrew those old clothes. I for one loved FireRed, enough to purchase LeafGreen. That old familiar tale kept me playing until the end...but when the end came, it was over, because how many 19 year olds do I know that still would do a link battle? Come on guys...remember, everything repeats itself somehow. Pokemon will too.

 

well my son is `3 so he plays the opposite of what i buy for myself.

big problem with it is, yes, its still the same. they even got dumb enough in some to simply repeat the original towns with new poke. :-\ they can invent things like blu-ray but not a better pokemon, a new pokemon.

 

You already have kids and you're talking about pokemon? Aren't you a little bit too old for that, then again, who am I to say that, LOL! ;D

well, if one is bored and wants something new. you guys can always get into pokemon hacks like Pokemon Shiny gold, and naranja.....
Different story lines and everything

 

They are getting really repedetive. You can tell they are running out of ideas for new pokemon heheh some of them are just rediculus. But it's good to play when you're bored out of your mind.

 

EPIC-FAILING i mean:

the pokemon blue was in my opinion the best ever made it didnt need graphics or over 400 new pokes to be enjoyed
by most ppl they did make the series more intresting adding more things in silver-gold ones but when ruby-sapphire attacked...

 

I don't like the new ones. Some of Hoenn and most of Sinnoh's Pokemon's look extreme retarded compared to Kanto and Johto. I hope they just remake Gold/Silver/Crystal for DS
