But now instead of staring at your friend who is right next to you, you can stare at him using the DS, It's like you're almost fighting him not in the same room

Well, you know how usually you just pay attention to your screen while picking moves, probably not even looking near you when playing, now you can stare at your friend while fighting him while not even taking your eyes off your DS. It's like you're in the same room with the person and you don't even have to take your eyes off your DS if for some reason you need to stare at him. It's like your really in the jetsons and video phone chatting with people, you know, without the phone, and you're in the same room.
