Nobody really considered the eyetoy because it was a Piece of Shit, and only really recognized the most basic of moves, like flailing around like an idiot to swap flies away, where as in Kinect you can do so much more, and, y'know, it actually works.

PlayStation Move: People playing tennis and throw the controller at the TV and break it
Microsoft Kinect: People playing fighting games and kick in their TV and break it

Either way, I predict many TV's being broken.

I'm remembering how many people launched their Wii remotes into the TV the first few months since they wouldn't wear the wrist band and let their hands get sweaty. See, there is a remedy right there for the PS3. For the Kinect...I don't know, play in a box maybe?

That reminds me of a silly comics I once read. ::)

It will probably be like when the Wii first came out.

That must be Sony's plan! Get the buyers of PS Move to smash their TV's, then they should go get a new Sony Bravia TV.

God Of Wii...I think I should teach him how to read instructions....

um, it CAN recognize body movements. not to an extremely accurate extent but yea, it can. unfortunately, the only people that actually took the time to fool around with that were people that weren't game developers.
even if you add that body recognition it has, it never changes the fact that it's an eyetoy rip-off. how long are people going to deny that...

i don't get it, how is it different then from now?

yeah but i have the feeling that the developers or third party games will go to the move because kinect will have alot of testing to see if their games work with precise movement or tracking of the body

Yeah, I don't think it's an Eyetoy Rip off, if it was an Eyetoy rip off, it would be a piece of shit. People usually don't rip off stuff that's crap. Besides, anybody could "Ripoff" Eyetoy if they wanted to. It's just a webcam with motion detection pretty much.
A Rip Off is blatantly copying something. Just because Kinect uses similar technology, doesn't mean they said "Hey guys? You ever see that piece of shit eyetoy thing on Playstation? Lets just copy what they did!".

okay, you understand what a rip-off is but you're saying it's not while justifying that they never made it with so-and-so thoughts in mind?
yea, um, if you haven't noticed, kinect is just wide webcam with motion control... they added a a motor in the stand to turn the camera when you move during a video chat, they only demonstrated that capability for the video chatting seminar of their stage show >_>

alright, lets put your reasoning as to why it's different into action:

you make some kind of new super car that runs on dirt, it flunks(it probably wouldn't, but imagine), i take that same car and add some extra minor crap while giving a design overhaul(changed shape, added an extra light, etc.) to it which is then announced to the world years later in a brainwash marketing; it's "completely different and new" just because yours isn't supported as well despite that being built off the same idea? that sound about right?

    By your example:

The eyetoy would be a rip off the web cam, which would make the Kinect, in turn, the rip off of the web cam.

    Your reasoning sucks.

mmm, i see your point. i'm not very good with creating an example...

What I'm trying to get across is that they didn't blatantly steal the idea from Sony, sure they we're the first to do it (As far I know), but just because some other company several years later comes out with a similar product, doesn't mean they ripped off the idea. Really, it's just a webcam with a few new functions, as you said, anybody could do it, with, or without having known of the Eyetoy. I mean, Security cameras boast the same technology, that being motion sensing.
The same can be said as well for the Playstation Move. I'm sure they didn't intend for the controller to be just like the Wii Remote, but the remote shape is what works best, because you can easily point it at the screen.

its not that people think that they copied the idea is the idea itself being used again to produce more money for the given company such as microsoft.....for me i dont think the kinect would be all that good because of games and spending extra money on batteries for the accessory itself

Yeah, I won't be picking up Kinect until it has some actual games. And then I might give the move a try, but so far all of the games for it are games that can also be used with a regular controller.

IMO. Kinect and the Move from Sony are more like a evolution of the wii mote.
Both are awesome in their own way, but both lack originality.

Besides, Sony won the war against kinect, at the moment they said that games with the new controller could be player with a normal ps3 Joystick.

It means that when you arm is hurt of moving around, you can just pick a popcorn, plug the normal joystick and enjoy the game.

Kinect.... hahaha the kinect. Lets try playing Soul Calibur on kinect.

    First Fight:
    *punch**punch**punch**punch**Defends**Jump**punch**punch**punch*Jumps*jumps*jumps*

and then make a break of one hour because you already need to rest.

i believe so an example of this would be socom 4 ...if your body feels fatigue then just pick up your original controller same goes with Heavy rain with a upcoming patch of the game
