Ahha, its ok. I'm only amateur as well, I'm 15.
I was just pointing out, no offense caused :)

Where it can be useful to provide a backdrop its much more user-friendly/easier basically, to just mess around with the settings to cancel out the light.

Neko: They're good, but not spectactular.
    Kaiser: You need macro.
    Born: Not enough pictures.

Sorry guys but everything was positive and I felt it needed a little nega. Other than that, great job guys. Really.
I don't know jackshit about cameras but I know a little sumthinsumthin about pictures.

Well you must know something as you've just suggested that i get a macro, which honestly i don't need in this situation, as you can see i'm getting close ups, but not super close ups. A macro is generally used for taking close ups of bugs and stuff. Where as i need a higher MM lens.

Which i am getting 70-300, which will suffice for what i am doing, i'm not a insect photographer and i'm not doing it to that sort of extent, i do not need a macro at all.

I study photography at school, but I'm not that good.
I only have a digital camera that is 12MP
    I wouldn't mind having a -real- camera.
I can't seem to keep my hands still when taking photographs :(

I really do want to, but I don't know the price or whether it's a purchase that would be worthwhile-seeing as I don't have a great camera
    What exactly is a "monopod"?

A tripod with only one leg, you still need to hold the camera, but it gives it more stability.

also monopods are easier to carry around and are usable in no tripod areas and such

I just returned from my Chinese bus tour through six states, three national parks (Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Arches), and several national monuments. I took 857 pictures, and I will pick out the best and post them on my Flickr when I feel like it.

Two pictures up. They're handheld panoramas stitched together with Hugin. Both taken in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.

Time stamps (if that's the phrase) on photos suck. Disable them.
