I made up my title for this topic to fit in with the viciousness of the following news articles...

MANILA, Philippines â€“ Law enforcers are stumped over the kidnapping and murder of 2 used-car sellers and one of their companions, Philippine National Police Director General Raul Bacalzo said on Tuesday.
In an interview with Noli de Castro on TV Patrol, Bacalzo said he considers the cases as out of the ordinary.

â€œNagtataka po ako sa kasong ito. Iyon pong style. Hindi po ito ordinaryong carnapping,â€ he said.

Suspected carjackers posing as buyers kidnapped lawyer Oliver Lozanoâ€™s son, Emerson, and his driver Ernane Sensil. The victimsâ€™ mutilated and burnt bodies have been recovered in Pampanga and Tarlac provinces.

Emerson, who works for a construction firm, was selling a Kia Carnival owned by his employer.

A used-car dealer, Venson Evangelista, was also kidnapped and killed the same way. His burnt body was found in Nueva Ecija province also in Central Luzon.

â€œNaiiba. Hindi po ito trend. Nagiging challenge po sa aming imbestigador,â€ Bacalzo said.

He, however, stressed that police are focused on solving the killings and on bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Bacalzo said separate teams tasked to undertake technical and field investigations have been deployed to solve the crimes.

â€œTatlong lugar po iyung pinagsunugan. Ang crime lab, kailangang makakuha ng ebidensiya para malaman kung isa lang ang grupo [ng kriminal],â€ he said.

Chief Superintendent Allan Purisima, Central Luzon regional police director, told radio dzMM earlier Tuesday that car theft groups based in Pampanga could be behind the killings.

Boy Evangelista, father of one of the victims, echoed Bacalzoâ€™s initial assessment on the murders.

He said carjackers ordinarily set their victims free and just steal vehicles. â€œMaraming cases na nangyayaring ganito.â€

Evangelista, however, said those who killed his son and a son of Lozano had a different method.

â€œIn my case and iyung case ni Atty. Lozanoâ€™s son, iba. Iba iyung pattern, iba iyung profile,â€ he said. â€œAng worse, sinusunog pa nila, like what happened to my son, Venson.â€

â€œAnak ni Atty Lozano, hindi naman lumaban, pinatay, sinunog,â€ Evangelista said.
He believes that police can solve the killings.

â€œOngoing na ho iyung proseso,â€ he said. â€œSa palagay ko naman, malaki ang chance natin ngayon. May comparison, may matching, potential matching.â€

Evangelista added that many car dealers own registered firearms. â€œLahat halos ng mga baril namin ay licensed. But then, iyung permit to carry mahirap makakuha ngayon.â€

Bacalzo, meanwhile, believes that laws are needed to strictly control gun ownership in the country.

MANILA, Philippines - Torture and murder are not part of the modus operandi of 6 carjacking syndicates being targeted by authorities, the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) said on Wednesday.

In an interview, Highway Patrol Group spokesman Senior Superintendent Edwin Butacan identified 6 carjacking syndicates in the PNP's order of battle. The 6 are the Dominguez Carjacking Group, Bonifacio Carnapping Group, Madrigal Carnapping Group, Herrera Carnapping Group, and Bundol Gang.

Butacan said police captured some members of the syndicates but were forced to let them go after they posted bail. He said some of the neutralized groups could reform or mutate to continue their illegal activities.

None of the syndicates, however, mutilated and set fire to their victims similar to what happened to Emerson Lozano, driver Ernane Sensil and Venson Evangelista.

Butacan said carjackers usually poke guns at their victims and then seize the vehicles. He said the carjackers only shoot their victims if they fight back.

He said the murders of Lozano, Sensil and Evangelista were unusual since they were brought to a distant location, tortured and then killed. He said Lozano's car, a Kia Carnival, is not usually targeted by carjackers.

Butacan said police are doing background checks on the victims. One angle being pursued is that the victims were also part of a group.

Which car is carjacker's 'favorite?'

Quezon City has the highest number of carjacking incidents reported since last year, Butacan said, followed by Manila, Makati, Marikina and Mandaluyong.

He also identified 6 vehicle models that are most targeted by carjackers. These are: Toyota Vios, Mitsubishi L-300, Honda Civic, Nissan Urvan, Isuzu Crosswind and Hyundai Starex. Report by Maan Macapagal, ABS-CBN News

Hey crime gangs in our country are pretty smart unlike our policemen. Worse still, some cops are the criminals themselves. I still hope for a time where I can walk the streets or drive a car without a guy putting a gun to m head.

yeah.. try mo magjogging sa gitna ng gabi at huhulihin ka, mapagkakamalan ka pang holdaper, bka perahan ka pa kung meron kang dala sa oras na yon.. -__-
trans: try jogging at night and they'll accuse u of hold up and robbery, even though u didn't, they might even take ur money if the opportunity rises..

crap people, it's just that the policemen and robber gangs here are getting more and more alike in common >_>
