I think you posted this in the wrong thread. But the reason I was being hostile in this instance was because I offered to help him upgrade to windows 7 through PM if he wanted and was told "screw you" (real quote) as a response. Don't even try to jump on me cause I'm the "new guy". I see through you.

I'm not going to search for a link to the ebook. But I'll give you a few links to read and ponder:

    WP: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pedophile%E2%80%99s_Guide_to_Love_and_Pleasure

    TC Report: http://techcrunch.com/2010/11/10/amazon-defends-pedophile-how-to-guide/
TC Article on the ban: http://techcrunch.com/2010/11/10/amazon-banning-one-vile-ebook-a-victory-for-what-exactly/
Okay, TechCrunch isn't the best place to read up on it but yeah, merely googling the name would bring up loads of info.

    ...Now I wanna read this.

Something tells me it's gonna give me a new insight...I'll get my ass kicked but it'll be better than normal books.

Well, excuuuuuse me for offending your delicate sensibilities. Next time I insult you I'll be sure not to appeal to your unwarranted sense of self-worth.

So if I write a guide on how to build a nuclear warhead and detonate it over the White House, I'm only challenging the "status quo" that says such a thing is immoral and cannot be held responsible if someone goes ahead and does so? How incredibly naïve. That very possibility immediately disqualifies your claim that "the only implications" are moral issues. There's a difference between freedom of expression and facilitating or encouraging crime.

well you are free to write it and publish it and the FBI also are free to arrest you in the name of national security and pull back all your books. thats how free world works, you are free to do whatever you want, but your bare full responsibility on your action but it doesnt mean you shouldnt or cant do it. you know like those smoker use to say, "my body, i'm free to do whatever to it, including inhaling those death stick".

Well yeah. The point is that there are limits to civil rights and you can't (or rather, you shouldn't) just do whatever you want because you're "free" to.

Some people dont like the rules, isn't this why half of us come here?

Sometimes it can lead to a good thing (and I don't mean free stuff aka stealing), in this case...hard to tell :S

He shouldn't be censored in my opinion. While what he wrote may well be objectionable, censorship is a dangerous path to tread.

Everbody has the right to do whatever they choose as long as it doesn't break any laws. Freedom of speech etc.
Personally I would like to kick the shit out of anybody who wrote stuff like that, but then I would go to jail whilst a pedo was free to do what he likes.

Human rights activists can kiss my arse. Not everybody deserves rights.

I never saw the link im just assuming its a book about pedo's, my statement is intended for that.

    How adorable.

However disgusting the topic is though, writing the book is not a crime. By guiding after all, he's not providing anything other than the knowledge of how to go about it. If someone followed his advice and hurried off to molest a kid, he can't even be called a mastermind. He just wrote a book and dump it on a shelf - it's their choice to follow it.

If they deep six him, then logic will follow that we'll get a lot of knife manufacturers jailed up around here...

This sums up pretty much everything, however...

First of all: it's a fun spectacle to see someone of such logical deficiency attempt to be condescending, but I applaud the effort nonetheless. The underlying problem with your argument is that, contrary to your conceived impressions of law as a just and omnipotent machine, law is a huge fucking abstraction. Laws that are made that infringe on peoples abilities of freedom and expression can't ever really be justified, because it already contradicts peoples FULLY LEGAL FREEDOMS to say what they want, do what they want, see what they want, think what they want, and fuck who they want if it isn't imposing on the freedom or physical comfort of anyone else.

Do I approve of pedophilia? No. Am I using as a tether to stomp your logic? Yes.

Jumping on the new guy works most of the time, but don't embarrass yourself here. It would be a good place to stop trying.
