WoW isn't meant to be anything like them...

I know - I'm surprised that I've been playing the game for as long as I have been. Granted, a lot of the time was spent making different characters out of me being bored to tears with my main character. Though I really don't understand just mining every day, though...

I don't think any of the guild's major 70's were on when I asked, and I did get a sort of 'PvP character' answer, but I wanted to know more than just that, as I was under the assumption that, well, every character was a PvP character <,<

But I don't think that we have any people with t6 gear at the moment. Everyone's just trying to get each other leveled up and keyed for all of the instances. I think that the only major raid/instance (whatever it's called, I just call everything an instance >.>) that people have tried to do is Kara, but I don't really know if that's the most difficult instance available or what.

That's what I was thinking when I first saw pictures for WoW - "What? That sounds nothing like the other games...! And this whole 'MMO' thing would never work." Now it's one of the most popular games on the market today. Boy, what a fool I was when I was nine...

And people do take this faaaar to seriously for their own good; I mean, if China had to limit game time to three hours for several years because parents allegedly neglected their child because they were playing WoW, and that several people have died in Korea for playing this for days, ignoring their bodily need to eat and drink, then that might just be an idea of how far people take this video game.

I think that the only real good this has done for society as a whole is the entire 'Corrupted Blood' incident. In it, a debuff that dealt a lot of damage very quickly and spread between players in close proximity was brought outside of an instance, spreading to affect entire towns - medical and social experiments called it an example of how people would react in real life if such a plague were to spread.

But that's still only an example, a virtual one at that. Otherwise, all it's done is make Blizzard fat and rich so that they could take them six, seven years to announce sequels to their two other major properties, Starcraft and Diablo. They also apparently are looking for people to work on a new MMO project that has yet to be announced...

What would be cool now is if Blizzard did a Warcraft IV. Now that would be quite awesome.

Actually, on my server, there seem to be a great deal of adults on Alliance than on the Horde. Well, there are about five Hordies to begin with, so that kinda screws their odds, but my guild is... somewhat mature.

    ... somewhat.

And thanks for reviving this - I'm almost tempted to revise it for The Wrath of the Lich King, but I don't have a level 80, nor will I ever, so I don't think I'm going to...

World of Warcraft is a fun game.. but most of the people are immature. 10 Year old's who love to gank people... Either way, it's still fun.. I was a 3/8 T6 Resto druid for ym guild :)

I have to admit i used to be a WoW addict...but i managed to get myself off it. And now you've made me want to play it again! Damn you! I was on the Alliance, and i have to say my experience was nothing like the one you described, we were all mature. The only immature event i recall was when 3 high level trolls came over, everybody attacked them and wouldn't let them leave. Now i'm going out to steal a better graphics card so i can download WoW again!

Since when are the Horde bad guys?
Seriously you'll have to do some background reading/playing (I suggest WC III) before labeling the horde as the 'bad guys'.

is this for real? China making a law exclusive for playing games?
I never knew koreans would be so addicted as to die for a game..sad

Yeah - the Chinese are now forcing players to enter their names into a giant database so that the government can shut down their games if they're playing too long. Apparently children and teens are missing school, work, ect... in favor of playing WoW and other MMOs. So it's an incredibly huge problem - there's even a WoW-themed restaurant now 0.o

And I've recently purchased WotLK (I've only tried a demo prior) and I've got to say - Death Knights are awesome. I still have to power through BC content to actually... GET... to Northend, but, when I do, I might bother with another review of it...

some of my university mates missed a week of lectures when burning crusade came out, it nearly got them expelled. Im not addicted since I can go for several weeks without missing it (months on one or two occasions), although I don't like the idea of not playing it for months since I am actually paying for it.
