No, in my browser it is the Box containing "FFFD".

 

...But I just realised...mine (the topics in question) is in pure english, so would downloading say the jap language pack be any real use?


...I kinda don't want to blow 100mb just for language packs, I only have 3gb for downloads


...I think personally another language won't help here unless windows is truly f***ed up

When I modified the topic, and saved it, there were a bunch of those symbols in it. The only thing I can think of would be the language packs I have installed. Seph thought it might be affecting non-admin/mod accounts only, but Fredbox said he can see it just fine as well.

I'm using
Windows XP SP3, latest windows updates installed.
Microsoft .net Framework 3.5 installed (probably not the issue solver, but just incase).
Firefox 3.6 with NoScript installed. Romulation.net allowed.
Japanese and other Asian languages installed.

I went through and removed the character from the two posts that Hypnos posted. Are they visible now, Yoshi and Hypnos?

 

Due to natural stupidity, I'm not sure which post you meant...but I don't think that matters...


I can thankfully say I can view my tutorials again


They are intact as well with no odd characters...unlike the last time a forum update came along and left me with some guess work XD


Hrm...what caused this...I didn't download anything tonight...

 

Seph mentioned earlier in the topic that he is looking into what caused it, and how to fix it.

For now I just removed the bad unicode characters from the topics which were causing the issues. Probably hindered Seph's progress by doing that though, but there are a few other topics out there that have the character in them, so he can still have a few test subjects.

 

Sounds like alot of work removing those bad code characters...

Looks like nothing had changed though, intact in all font's and colours/pics I used.

 

They only seemed to be added where the ' (Apostrophe) and " (Quote) were used. In the places where ' were used, I replaced them. Other places I deleted them. It didn't change anything important.

 

My review got erased as well... may somebody please see if it's only me who can't see anything here?

I can still see it, but I can't modify in that section in order to remove the bad characters which are causing the issue.

 

It's good it's at least still there... I thought it was lost, and I don't have backup for it... I'll have to make it when everything hopefully will be back to normal... Thank you.

I do not have the pack installed (I do not have any Windows XP CD, neither had, a friend of us installed Windows XP for us), so no.
