if only i could give you my points, they're kinda useless now that the nds section is gone, but at least the gba section is still there. i have 31,221 points and will have a few more in an hour with the points update.

no, all we can see is the connection being closed, which doesnt necessarily mean the download completed. plus waiting for connection close is hugely resource heavy compared to taking points at download start because once we've initiated the download the webserver software takes over and we can kill the php process. If we waited until the connection closed we'd have to keep the php process running indefinitely and it would consume resources.

Seph also mentioned that some downloaders open many connections and close them all the time. So you'd be getting points subtracted every time one of those connections closed (or something like that).

But, resuming is always free, so it doesn't matter if the points are subtracted first.

yes you copy the url, or you integrate it with your browser so it grabs download links automatically.

download accelerators open many connections, managers only open one at a time.

Follow this tutorial for a good download manager running under Firefox's environment:

firefox does allow for resuming. I've used it many times here. Firefox makes a .part file which it saves all downloaded into that part so shuting down and resuming will work.

Yes, but if your connection breaks then it will think the download is done and can not resume it.

It allows pausing and resuming...but I'm not sure.

The shortest, straight answer... Opera is a web browser & not a download manager.

It doesn't help much, but an answer none the less.
