I just hope that things would go back to the way they used to be before all this.

So, it's only the NDS section, right?

Look I think we are all upset about RomeUlation, even the Mod's are. There are plenty of web sites out there now rubbing there hands together thinking that we are all going to abandon ship and look elsewhere for our NDS Rom's. I for one will be staying right here, this Forum has taught me many things and I wont just pack up and leave.

RomUlation you have been a credit to the gaming community.

My only worry is that there are web site's out there that will take advantage of our little miss hap and will start to make money out of the rom's downloaded from here, these low life's are the one's that should be taken to court and hung.
Now I have to go back to school now so catch you all later.

Let them, they'll only get in worse trouble than we have.

That would do you just about no good, it'd be like holding your breath indefinitely because you weren't allowed to get some candy for free...

I don't think this is likely to happen. And should any one reading this actually consider it then I'd advise against it. One thing is to offer it for free but if you start selling it then legally it enters an entirely different ballgame, one you cannot play and win. Besides, if you think about it then morally you simply cannot defend selling downloaded games for profit.

Sorry to hear this happened to you guys, I'm sure you have looked at this but, for the curious, here is a list of ESA members http://www.theesa.com/about/members.asp

Perhaps a chat with the Pirate Party of Sweden may be of some value as they have both a strong legal team and can provide help regarding iron clad hosting.

In the meantime though, like most other people on RomU I fully support your decision to pull the NDS section; lets all hope the the ESA call the dogs off now, but seriously guys do get some legal support, if only for your own piece of mind.

Then why don't you host them and we shall see how long before you 'get chicken'.

For now, there are alternative means to downloads, we still have the NDS sharing/trading station section. I'll just keep a close eye on that, as some members are right on top of new rom releases and get them in there day of. We won't get the awesome RomU servers, but I think we can all live with commercial file sharing sites.

I'm sure this will all get sorted out eventually. Or, you could try to do what the Piratebay does. Every time you get shut down, find yet another work around.

Hey guys, long time lurker here.

I'm really sorry to hear about what's happened, the amount of effort you've put into building that 5000-strong collection of NDS roms is unfathomable, however looking on the bright side of things, you still have the old SNES roms!

    Earthbound anyone?

We have no interest in this really, even if we could legally host all of this I wouldn't want to. I really do mean it when I say that if a publisher or developer wants things removed then we have no intention of keeping it up.

Yeah, I see your point. If the original creators/publishers want to aim at something... they aim at it... I gues...
