No NDS downloads?

I joined the RomU because I was one of the people who can't afford to buy the real copy. Since "This site is already busted" Some of NDS lover try to find another places for downloading the games (Which is including me).

For those Administrators who made this good site, I would like to asked this simple questions:
1. I think the ESA is BS if they starts arguing about this BS money and selling problems. Why they yelled now at least two weeks ago?
2. Like I stated before, Why don't you create another sites and servers to re-create the Downloads? After all: the warrant stated on this site only (at least that is what I found so far), right?

Besides: RomUlation weren't the only one that has hackers stationed.

Why not upload all the games that are coming to Megaupload/Rapidshare/Mediafire and post them in topics like 'Rom# 5001/6000' 'Rom# 6001/7000' ect?

 

I'm not an admin (nor will I ever be D but I can answer your questions.

They didn't just start, Seph has been getting shit from the ESA for years. I'm guessing the ESA finally put their foot down and threatened a lawsuit or something.

They don't need to. It's not like RomU is the only site with NDS roms.

 

You know what happens when they get a "request" to remove a certain game (it is actually a Cease and Desist notice)? They remove the game.
You know what happened when they got a "request" to remove all ROMS covered by the ESA? They removed all ROMS so that the issue could be sorted through.

True, they could just host RomU on an even more remote server elsewhere, but that only helps for so long.

I highly doubt the rest of the site will be attacked. The NDS section was chosen for various reasons that none of the other sections fall under.

Also, the reason it's now is because somebody complained to the ESA and gave them an excuse to do something. Generally it is up to the individual company to protect their intellectual property, but many are partnered with the ESA which does the protecting for them. Due to the sheer amount of companies that are partnered with the ESA, over 90% of NDS games will never see this site again (well, at least not at this point in time). I'm sure links will be scattered all over the forums, but we all know that just won't quite be the same.

To sum it up: Had they kept NDS ROMS, they faced jail time. If they bring the NDS ROMS back, they face jail time. Seems there is only one logical decision here.

The joke about the ESA is that they raise the games prices and expect people to buy their games at their rules but what they don't realize (ever) is that there is always a loophole. Downloading games for free is a loophole and when they finally complain about said loophole they start being whiny douches.

I can prove this by using one simple game as an example: Mario Party 8! This game is so/so altogether and if you were to see the price for a new copy you would see $44.99. (Thanks EB Games.ca) When I first saw that price I swore under my breath so their basically forcing people to buy their crappy games by trying to stop piracy. Sure RomU got busted again but no matter what their still good and can bounce back. Either the ESA sucks, game prices are too high and the economy is still recovering so the only way to play video game is to download.

Sorry if this is a bit chunky but it's my way of speaking my opinion.

 

kingzeak is right, the people at ESA must be stupid if they think people will stop pirating games when they raise the prices every time someone prates a game. That'll just make more people pirate games. They're basically encouraging us to download rather than buy.

 

Actually it is good: I can download my N64 games at full speed (250 KB/s)

 

just for your future reference, because it's an important life lesson:

they're = they are (ie. they're being douche bags)
their = possessive (ie. it was their decision)
there = location (you are over there)

I was here...(I am STILL here) for the many roms that they offer. granted for me the DS was a big part of my downloading b/c my son takes up all the time on it. So no$gba/no$zoomer was great for me. I still use the GBA and PS1 sections..Even managed to snag a few N64..Guess I'm stil holding out hope that RomUlation will be able to somehow keep the DS section up. Thank again.
