Kid, there are several other romsites. One site taking their roms down won't affect the smart people who will use a different site, leaving the stupid people complaining about what "Nintendo did" and explaining their stupid assumptions.

    Agreed 100%.

Guys, here are some facts about the 2007 shutdown.

No matter how hard companies stop piracy, it will always exist. For example, this old interview with Seph three years ago when RomU was nearly shut down: http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=41573.0

Romulation was shut down from October-December 2007, by the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act). They moved their servers away from the US where the DMCA isn't valid anymore, but now they have US and EU servers. Now they're being shut down by the ESA (Entertainment Software Association) enforcing the DMCA, an American association that represents many video game companies.

Not exactly the most accurate, but it's what I got out of less than ten minutes of research.

    This opinion has no basing.
Do you really think a lack of roms is going to kill Nintendo?
    If rom users left,
the people who bought the actual games would still be there.
And that right there is a shitload of people.

    Nintendo is a company.
The game creators care about gaming.
    The company wants money.
Roms aren't making them money, but losing them.
Because we all Nintendo is just going to start throwing their new games around for free.
Why do you think AP exists?

The fact that you believe roms are the source of Nintendo's gaming is ridiculous.
If you don't want people "jumping on you" based on your opinion,
    don't make a ridiculous opinion.

Roms are not a simple subject.
They come and go. You have to move with it.

Everyone makes it sound as if the ESA are the badguys in this.
People rely on the ESA for security.

As much as I use this site and have nothing against it, it's still pirating and that's against the general law in a majority of the world.
Society follows the laws for order, and a law like this is common sense and is one that shouldn't be argued against.

Stop getting so fucking butthurt that you lost your NDS games on a single site.

You pretty much all sound like a group of little kids with no sense.

As long as there are roms, there will be piracy ;D

agreed. still got other sites to download DS roms as backup, but this kinda got me a bit sad cuz this site is actually my favourite, and its not because of DS roms, its the fact how you guys are more reliable to find/make patches to get ds games to work XD

but i guess now with esa, you guys wont be making or looking for patches and fixes anymore right? :(

So this is it, huh? The end of Roms for the DS available on this site?
Honestly, I don't like not being able to buy every DS game i wanna play, but I'm a simple young kid without a whole lot of money, so this way is easier and treats my wallet nice for the time being. I suppose the law is trying to be enforced and they must do what they need to. I think life would be a whole lot simpler if so many factors weren't determined by material gain, *cough* money *cough*
That's too bad. Oh well. Time to find another site i suppose. The Law is like a brick wall. It's powerful and sturdy, but plenty of ways to get around it. Too many, perhaps?
As i grow up I'll be sure to support them by buying the popular games so that they can continue making the type of games i like, but as for now, I'll stick with the dark side.

I Am with you on this.
Why should only the privileged few be allowed to get the high end tools to form high end abilities? Now that might not make a lot of sense so let me explain.
Why should a rich person be able to get lets say... Photoshop CS5 Extended ($1000.00us) and with said program build a skill set that will make him more successful and even richer, while the poor person with just as much drive and potential is left to deal with sub-standard programs that aren't nearly as good and are definitely not the industry standard that PSe is. With this setback from the beginning, the poor person suffers a HUGE setback and in such is forced to work much much harder to achieve the same goals.
That being said, just because i can't afford to try every DS game i think might be good... i shouldn't be able to? I Disagree and find it a sad, but true, fact of life that if you're able to get around then you should.

I Hope i made enough sense, i am kinda tired right now.

XFD, no one in their right mind is gonna get a loan to buy photoshop.

"Why do you want this loan sir?"

    "I want to buy photoshop"

Plus i'm sure there are free programs that do what photoshop does.

Your grasp of the banking system astounds me!
No bank is going to fork out $1000 for PSe just because you say you want to use it to build a set of skills to hopefully in the future get a high paying job out of it.
I Suppose you could use one of those money lending places, but the payback time is minute and the interest is obscene, and this would mean you would just be even further in the hole.

There is one that is popular called Gimp i believe, but it has nowhere near the features or capabilities of Photoshop, not even remotely when you get to the top end stuff.

Also i don't really care whether you guys agree with me or not, i stand by my opinion.

There are things similar to Photoshop, but no editing program out there can do what Photoshop can do. Photoshop is an industry tool, those who just have it probably torrented it.

Anyways, that really isn't what he was driving at. Basically, he wonders why the rich deserve to get richer, while the poor person suffers. In this case, the "money" is DS games. While torrents are the poor mans alternative to paying for PS, RomUlation and other ROM sources are the poor mans alternative to paying for DS games consistently. In this scenario, I suppose the ESA would be the rich man or something.

I don't honestly feel like mapping it all out, but I hope you get the general idea.
