I don't think RomUlation should of put the download count next to every game Rom, this most probably gave the ESA something to think about.

If there was no download count they wouldn't have a clue how many people were downloading NDS Rom's.

The number next to ROMs is the ROM Number. The 4000th game to be released

Not that number! The number which says how many people have downloaded the Rom. Wake up!

Hmm.. It won't make a difference anyway. It's still pirated.

Yes your right it is still pirated, but if you look at how many times the Rom has been downloaded then X by the price of the game you can roughly tell how much money they have lost on a game through RomUlation putting it here to download.

If there wasn't any download count they couldn't work it out and I don't think RomUlation would of been targeted by the ESA.

You forget, Some of the ROMs are downloaded multiple times by the same people.

Yea, there are people who delete roms and download them after 2 days again, or download them a few times just for fun.... wayne^^

Hope ESA will stop this, even if this, I think, wont happen. There are many different sites but romulation were my favorite. Well we will look :p

Why the hell would ESA want to stop this without a good reason?

there are some reasons^^ how it's said above it's pirated, I think this is reason enough.

you really cant tell anything from the number of downloads i know ive downloaded mario golf for the gba atleast 3 times haha plus you have to factor in the number of people that dont even own a DS in the first place so why would they buy a DS game if they dont own the system? that shouldnt count as a "lost sale" in my opinion... to be able to find out the loss in sales you'd have to find the number of people who own a DS that downloaded the game (which is impossible) and if you download it twice would that count as 2 losses in sales or just 1?

I'm willing to upload any of my Roms that I have and that is not listed yet.

if I may I'll start tomorrow with it, If somebody has a request please ask and I'll
look if I've got the ROM.

but, why ESA blocks the nds roms of romulation? are they going to do the same at other nds rom sites?

Just as long as you leave the forum thread links in the search system. It's a little bit of an annoyance to have to go to a thread on the forum for a link to a mirror on filehosters. But it's still heaps easier to use the search system on the main site then trying to search the forums :p

Though the other thing is the unlikeliness that forum threads for old or unpopular games will be maintained, as file hosters get more aggressive with taking off infringing material and stuff

Nu, your MAGICITE Avatar got smaller :(

    Anyways,

RomUlation is the best ROM site, it's logical that it's targeted first.

Also, after reading through the entire thread, I just wanna say thank you to Seph and everyone else for what they've done. There's too many annoying people getting indignant because they can't download DS roms anymore, which isn't fair.

I and I'm sure many other appreciate all games we've been able to try out thanks to you.
As if it makes any difference to the ESA, I have bought 5 games that I am certain I wouldn't have without trying them first :p
