    For you maybe.
I still like to get old retro games and some PSX ISO from here.
Still has some purpose for me.

Being dead to you and being dead are two different things. I'm not going to ask you to stay(I've actually been throwing shitloads of people out the past couple days even!) but if you do go, I would ask that you don't make a big spectacle of it like all these other people have been doing.

I'm not making a spectacle. I'm stating the obvious. Sure you guys still have a great selection of older titles from other consoles and hand helds, but so do others. I will go, for now. If this is ever straightened out, I'll come back. But not as a fanboy of one rom website, but as a person who knows that when something has outdone it's usefulness, it's time to walk away.
Clearly, you are in a lot of trouble, so I don't see this problem simply going away. The ESA has in essence, forbid you from hosting roms from any of their affiliated game publishers. Mainly the ones that produce the higher-end games. Perhaps if I ever feel the need to play Strawberry Shortcake, or My Pet House, I'll find myself back at RomUlation.

Jackassery aside, you guys were number one, no doubt about it, and I want to thank you for your efforts. This website has not only been a portal into finding the games I (and others) like to play, but also allowed users to try out games, rate them, give an opinion, and let others decide whether that specific title is for them or not. My immediate family and most of my friends use carts, and I've recommended this site for years. That being said, good luck in your future endeavors. Hopefully they don't land you in trouble.

lol its only the nds roms, its just a small part of the site.
and if esa can do this to this site do you think they are gonna allow every other site to host them? no. sooner or later all big/well known sites wont be hosting them.

Try being on their place and you'll know.

Go if you must, this site has enough complaint already.

Were you guys asked to delete all of the nds files? Completely from your system?

At first I was going to call you an idiot, but you made up for it with the bottom part.

True, a core part of their site has been taken away. Anybody who says the NDS roms were a minor part of the site obviously doesn't know how most people find this place. I actually found this place through trying to find a working rom of Super Mario RPG (which was very difficult at the time mind you), but NDS emulation was still kind of on the new side at that point I believe (it was a few years back). I think when I initially found the place, I was either too stupid to figure it out, or there were no guest downloads. I don't really know since it was awhile ago now.

Will Romulation still provide what they are providing while ever improving upon what is already there? Yes, I'm positive they will.

Will the NDS section ever be back to its former glory? Maybe, maybe not. It may take until the DS is as old as the Gamecube is now until all NDS roms can be hosted again.

Will people still use Romulation for all of its other services and not leave because of one mishap? Well, except for idiots, I believe people won't be such greedy assholes as to call the site dead or worthless because they can no longer provide the service that person personally used.

When I joined, yes, I joined for nothing but NDS downloads. Now though, I make downloads from the retro sections, hang out in the forums, and found the site was much more then just an NDS rom site. Becoming a member of the community has been far more enjoyable then any DS game I've ever played.

Just games covered by the ESA, which happens to be quite a few of them. They had to remove all of them for now though to sort through which ones are covered by the ESA.

Guys stop getting all pissy at raiden. For a lot of people, me included, being able to download NDS roms when they half the time they are on here right after being ripped was a great thing, now that it's gone i'm sure some people feel that the site's kind useless now, not me mainly because i still like the forum. But not everyone is gonna go "no more ds games, i'll just download these snes games because it's really not the same at all.

At least he didn't run in using swear words and such, he gave you a straight out reason why

To be completely fair, people aren't complaining at Raiden, they are complaining at whichever admin or moderator was the last to post.

You have also stated nothing new. Yes, the NDS roms were a core part of their site. No, it probably won't be back in its full glory for a very long time. No, other sections may not be the same, but they are still a key part of this site and are a few of many reasons why this site is such a success.

I got a bad feeling about this thread, i think it should be closed now. Everyone's going round in circles.

The NDS section will never be back to it's former glory, you gotta realize that. Not just a core part, for some it was the only reason t come here.

It won't be locked. They are trying to keep this as the only thread. It may be going in circles, but it is best that one place be kept with it rather then the rest of the forum.

Are you a born pessimist? Seriously, damn dude. The NDS section will eventually be back, it isn't doomed forever. Like every system, Nintendo will stop caring about older games when the new system comes out with new games just for it (ie: 3DS).

For people who bitch and moan and complain because the NDS section was "the only reason to visit the site": Leave, nobody wants you here anyways. If your first post was complaining about NDS downloads not existing anymore, then I highly doubt you'll be missed.

Not to rain on your parade, but sylar is likely correct. The NDS section will likely never be the same again if it makes any sort of recovery at all.

yes, the DS games were a major part of the site.

yes, it may take a while for the section to return to it's full capacity

no, it was not just the Ds roms that make this site a success. There are numerous systems that you can choose from, and it's the ease of access to them, and the friendly community that aided in making this site what we all know today.
This is not a reason to badger the Admins and Mods, as it is not like they asked the ESA for a C&D.

And finally... yes, Sylar has the right idea, good for him

I wasn't exactly thinking a quick recovery. I gave an estimate that the NDS may have to be as old as the GC is now before Romulation can host their NDS roms with nobody caring anymore. Remember, that is still another three years of time before the NDS hits the GC's current age.

unless the 3ds is backwards compatible then its a long wait

  20. LuckyTrouble77

I believe they already stated the 3DS will support older DS and DSi/DSi enhanced games. That in no way means they'll keep producing them though. It is kind of like when the Gameboy Advance came out, although it was backwards compatible with older Gameboy models, they no longer made games for those models.

The 3DS will just shift the attention away from the normal DS and will allow DS roms to be a little more active on the internet. Companies are all about what is making them the most money at the time.
