sometimes why would you want to pay when you're succumbed to such conditions,

    http://www.tomshardware.com/news/assassin-s-creed-DRM-ubisoft-piracy,9699.html

call of duty 6 modern warfare was highly pirated for pc because of the major changes it underwent. why would you want to pay for that?

You're really awesome. I'm actually surprised at your level of thinking, to be honest. Usually, on a forum like this (Hacking forum, as a generic term), people don't really want to hear how "bad" hacking is. However, you're rebukes rather enlightened me.

I'm really starting to reconsider what this "hobby" really is. Every time I download some ROM, I consider how much trouble someone had to go through to get it on the internet, before it's even released in stores. This hobby is nothing but a manifestation of wanton greed that we consider "gaming", with our shiny flashcarts and anti-piracy patches, easily throwing off nintendo's (among others) feeble "anti-hacking" chains.

I will admit, I feel bad ocasionally for downloading nintedo's products. Anything other than nintendo titles, I could care less(like final fantasy or megaman, for example). I personally like nintendo as a company, so I usually buy nintendo titles instead of pirating them, which I guess is good for them, in a very, very small way.. I don't know.

Anyway, you're really cool, so, yeah. Nice posts. None of what I said was sarcasm, if it came off that way.

I don't think piracy is anything right or just, but I do have empathy for those pissed off about Assassin's Creed II's DRM -grumbles- and Spore's goddamned "install it five times and then it's a dud" policy. -grumbles-

I usually pirate to try the game (because no business is really willing to lend DS games, seeing as how fragile they are), and then buy it if I like it. And then I just let my brothers have the original game while I play my ROMs. I don't want to start over and leave my awesome sav file neglected, you know.

Anyway... giving away video games can really show you care, but that isn't the only way to show someone that you're willing to step in and help them on their path to their future. Of course if you get too close to the kid people start staring at you, and... ugh. I hate that about American society! But I say that if you really care about the kid, and he or she doesn't care about what anyone else things, you won't buckle down to anyone's neuroses, right?

I very rarely ever play a ROM to the end. However, I usually ALWAYS play a physical game to the end. Right now, I own 12 or so physical games, and they're all really good ones that I never even considered pirating (like pokemon platinum, both zeldas and NSMB).

I think pirating is a little easier to stomach if you have an intention of buying the actual game. Not without consequence, of course.

I also notice how few people have even heard of flashcards. I tell people how good I am at pokemon, and they're like,"action replay?"..."No, I use flashcard"..."a what?". Even the people of my age group (16+) dare not venture past limewire. It's actually pretty...reassuring that people (of one of the most greedy age groups) don't hack more than music. Barely anyone downloads youtube videos, and no one even attempts...*gasp*movie downloading.

Anyway, paddette and natelwie got' the concept down,so I guess I'll leave the rest to them..

you mean you wouldn't want to play call of duty 6 modern warfare or one of the other highly acclaimed games?! i'm shocked!

i'm really shocked that all the members on this board has not downloaded system shock yet. nor have they downloaded great ancient pc games from the mid to late 90's. there are people on this board who own a wii and they have said that the best thing about it is the hack. there are people who are pirating on a console when they can clearly purchase the game.

I wouldn't want to play it, because I hate FPS games and "critical acclamation" is for the most part bullshit to me. But still, "major changes" aren't a valid reason for pirating a game. If you're so curious, buy it or rent it. You were asking why you'd want to buy it. My riposte is: why would you steal it? You still didn't answer it, and what's more, you've deviated from my question and started bitching about Wii and System Shock.

here's another example, people love command and conquer.
you've been dedicated to the game and love the game. then this happens.

    http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/20/command-and-conquer-4-wont-have-lan-support-or-dedicated-servers/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+weblogsinc%2Fjoystiq+%28Joystiq%29&utm_content=Google+Reader

no one want to pay that crap. so you'll might as well pirate and play. why would the company decide to take those features out. no one asked them and all the gamers have loved those features from the past releases. there is no merit for omitting them.

i know a lot of people love star craft and when blizzard decides to announce some major changes like no lan, then you'll see a lot of dedicated star craft gamers pirating the game.

i love piracy. it's a dreadful act but it's a good dreadful act.

    system terminated

Well... Uh, we've established that piracy hurts companies, kids need more than video games to grow up well, and that some people commit piracy because of anger at DRMs. Is there anything else I'm missing here?

I don't know, sometimes a big part of it is the microwave's fault... Of course I've never had sex before, let alone sex with a man (epic shock, I know), so what do I know?

In America, anyone under eighteen can't possibly sexual. Oh no. Childhood masturbation is just a myth, I say!

    God damn it.

But who I really feel sorry are for the girls. They can't really do anything without "equipment," huh? At least with guys, all you need is butter.

The age of consent is under 18 (16 or 17 usually) in half of the states of the US.

The average human is born with ten fingers. A woman has more than enough natural equipment to do anything she wants.

How did the topic get here from nintendo suing pirates?
