They most likely won't. So that everyone will buy the 3DS and that the 3DS will have something to stop Piracy for a long while. But I really hope tey do continuing making regular DS games.
They should. They still made GBA games a few months after the first DS came out (eg. MMBN6 and the GBA Micro came out around that time), since not everyone made the switch until maybe a month later. I hope they make a DS flashcart compatible with the 3DS (as it is backwards compatible) AND a flashcart that plays 3DS games. Let's hope we don't have to go through flashme/passme crap that was needed in the first stages of flashcards.
Uhg, not another DS... Nintendo should go back to traditional gaming. Too many gimmicks, I just want to play games! 2 screens, 3d, motion sensing, touch screen, microphone and a camera! That thing is going to be overloaded! I couldn't imagine bringing that thing into a public space; risking breaking an expensive toy such as this.
It's not another DS. It's the next gen. You wouldn't say "Uhg, not another Gameboy.." when they announce the new Gameboy Advance, would you? XD Majority of those things are already in the DSi. Also, most of it's internal, and tiny. Nothing to complain about. o.0? How do people walk around with $180 DSi's, and $200 DSi XL's? If you're so afraid you're going to break it (or some stranger is going to spite you for nothing and bust it) just buy an extended warranty.
I mean it's way to complicated to be fully enjoyable (at least for me). I just want something that plays games in a familiar and simple way.
Nintendo systems still do that. There's still a great amount of button mashing. Examples: Mario & Luigi Series, SSBB, Mario Kart Wii/DS, New Super Mario Bros. Wii/DS, etc. These are all major games, and all allow for great and simple gameplay.
Even Megaman is difficult to play on the DS. I don't get why you want a simple game, when there is no such thing. Unless you love slow paced puzzle games like picross? Or touch screen only games (which are lame as heck).
I'm going to have to agree with lolman180 here. I'm sure that if they were going to add 3d stuff to a gaming system, then they would have probably added it to other stuff as well (like DVD players and TV).
:c I just bought my DSi (which I'm usin now to write here) and they announced DSi XL and now again 3DS, but I think it will be a good handheld.
3D TV without special devices has been being worked on, but is significantly more difficult at that scale. The DVD player one won't happen for a long time, as then movies will have to start being produced in that special 3D as to work on it, and it will probably be relatively expensive if there is ever a way to convert older movies to this format. Considering all of this, we probably won't be seeing full 3D devices in the home on a large scale for a few years at least.
Actually....if DSes were 3D without glasses, that would mean paying like, 1k for it. Thats the heresy part. The lies part is obvious. At this day and age, you can't mass-produce technology such as Glass-less 3D. Or so I've heard...
I highly doubt it is going to be state of the art 3D technology, it will just be innovative and nice. This is to prevent the price from breaching a range where nobody will ever purchase it except hard core gamers. Also, remember that the parts are mass manufactured and cheap. It makes it so the system can be sold at a much lower price.
Kirby, and Zelda would like to talk to you. Megaman difficult to play on the DS? What? From what I've played it's pretty easy. Also don't tell me that New Super Mario Bros is complex or Mario Kart is or Wario Ware or Kirby etc. You're basing this off of retail prices. 3DTVs are well over their manufacturing price (they'd be the near the same exact price of the regular HDTV) and the glasses are about 100 dollars higher than manufacturing. Small screens and already proven tech (CES, CES) shows that yes, it could be affordable even with a profit margin.
They are only making that to fall into the "3D cutting-edge" crap. You could hear lots of stuff about the 3DS. Then what will come next? Maybe a 3DSi, then a 3DSi XL, then maybe.....who knows what.
All the people who think 3D gaming without glasses isn't possible, well, you are wrong. Parallax barriers covering the LCD with precision tears and other such things work exactly like most Japanese phones and like 3D glasses u=in movies. Except the 3D glasses will be directly over the screen of the 3DS. Lol whoops, thinking of another game. doh. But Megaman Double team is sometimes a bitch to play. New Super Mario bros is impossible to play on No$GBA since it takes me a while to run and jump at the same time. I also highly doubt that it will be state-of-the-art. 3D glasses in movies are free with the tickets, and they aren't bad, so I don't see why the 3DS will be really expensive as some people think. The only way I'm not getting it if it's 30USD more than the PSPGo.
