If the NGP can play a couple of PS3 games like MGS4(which it can) I don't see why it can't play PS2 games.

The NGP will have PS2-like graphics. I don't see how the NGP could play a PS3 game, Unless it is a port however.

LOL!!! No the graphics are supposed to be similar or equilvalent to that of the ps3. Man where did you hear this?

a battery that can support a system with the power draw of the PS3 would weigh about as much as I do. And would last half an hour tops.

i get my news from pspiso and the news that updates there are usually on par. i think they did work out a solution for the battery. i can't remember the solution well because its been a little while.

Sony handhelds won't be able to emulate PS3 for another 10 years I'd say. With the technology we have now, the handheld would have to be a foot long to emulate PS3.

Not true, but it would be very expensive and probably easily over heatable

Sony claims the new handheld comes close...have you seen the specs?

They also claim you can play some progress on the ngp using a ngp version of a ps3, return home and continue on a ps3...

As for battery life, I'm curious on how they done it.

True, the smaller screens make the graphics more condensed and PS3 looking. If Sony ported PS3 games to NGP, you probably wouldn't notice the difference on the smaller screen.

i also read the ngp wont be using discs or umds. i seen a picture resembling a ds cart but a bit bigger.

UMD's costed too much and were a pain, so they went with carts.

Despite being primitive it's still effective.

kinda dumb, but i guess it is an effective method. i read the file size is bigger than a gig, so that's all fine and dandy. you still have the privledge of using a memory stick as well.

I dont consider it dumb at all, sure cartridges are more expensive to produce, but they're a lot more rugged and are therefore better suited to being carried around.

That's not proof. That's footage from the PS3 version superimposed on a picture of the console.

At least sony are moving in the right direction and not bringing out the same console with a new gimmick, if its as powerful as I read its got my attention, for the 1st time in years im actually interested in a handheld.
A portable ps2 would be amazing and its a natural progression from the psp that could do the psx games, sony have thousands of old ps2 games they can now re sell online as ngp games.
I haven't done any research or anything yet so I don't know any details but if this happens I will definately buy one.
