Ah, I agree. Though I'm quite 'like' it myself.

Its a 8 year old girls version of a final fantasy, you have to change costumes and stuff lol its a piss poor rpg.

Changing costumes is pretty much changing jobs in every other FF game that has it. They just give a visual look to the jobs in this one.

No FF was exceptional on the PS2, X & XII were mediocre at best imo.

Zelda 1 - was good, challenging but not too bad i thought.
Zelda 2 - ... shit, the battle was so frustrating at times and having to restart from the very beginning every time you died/gameover was just messed up, the game world was huge so progressing a massive chore.
Zelda 3/LttP - just right, not too easy or hard. I wish they would look back to this game in terms of difficulty. All Zeldas after have been a bit too relaxed (apart from MM, that was perfect too), although, i do still enjoy them for other reasons.

It might be funner for you to start at FF1, no clue. My first FF that i beat was FF7, i enjoyed it a lot. If you want to try it, just download the first disc and play it, you may not enjoy it enough to download all 4 discs. i'm pretty sure i beat 7, then 10, then started on the earlier ones, never beat 1 and 2 though, i played Dawn of Souls for 1 on the gba, but eventually my save file got erased when my computer messed up so i stopped playing it.

Played 3 and 4 on the DS, beat them. They are both pretty fun, 3 can be hard because the dungeons don't really have save points when i went through them, so you pretty much have to go through the dungeon leveling up, escape the dungeon, heal up, then run through straight to the boss and kill it, it's a pretty fun game, although you can only find Phoenix Downs i think which can sometimes be pretty tough to beat a boss while trying not to die, but i ended up beating the game with like 40 Phoenix Downs left. I also liked 4, it was somewhat easier then 3 with save points during dungeons, but some bosses can be pretty tough.

Before those games i played and beat 5 on the GBA, definitely one of my favorite games. I played and beat 6, although if you want the final boss dungeon to be easier in 6, raise every party member's level and skills that you can, i ended up just using cheats during the final dungeon because i didn't want to spend time grinding 8 of my characters levels and skills.

I played 8, but never got far enough to beat it. I got bored of it after a few hours because i spent too much time playing the card game in it lol. 8 is pretty fun, it can be easy depending on what you do. The enemies in the game Level up with you, easiest thing to do is to turn the enemies into cards so you don't level up, then use the Summons to put the cards on yout stats, making you strong.

I also played and beat 9. Fun game.

Final Fantasy IV/VI are the highlights of the pre-FF7. Don't miss them.

    No don't!

You'll easily get pissed off at the original FF1 on the NES as the game hasn't yet utilized the "auto targeting" feature that was "developed" when FF2 was released.

What this is, is that feature where if a monster one of your characters targeted dies before he/she can hit it on his turn the game auto selects another monster for him/her to attack. In the first Final Fantasy game as well as Dragon Quest 1 through 4 on the NES this feature was not yet developed. In those days battles where very tedious as you'd have to be careful in choosing which monster/s each of your characters chooses so as not to waste their turn swinging at nothing.

So as I said, if you're going to play the first FF1 game, then go for the PSOne or GBA port as those were given that "improvement".

As for Dragon Warrior 1, 2 & 3, get the SNES Japanese two pack of DQ1 & 2 then apply the fan translation patch from here:

    http://www.romhacking.net/trans/337/

As for DQ 3, get the SNES fan translation here:

    http://www.romhacking.net/trans/1323/

Or just play the DS remake.

DQ4 I'm afraid you're left with just the NES version.

DQ 5, play the SNES version & apply this fan translation patch:

    http://www.romhacking.net/trans/341/

DQ 6.... err this one's actually a lost cause as the fan translators have left the building, so to speak.

Just looked at your first post, you didn't say ps2, so that leaves out, X, X-2, and 12 anyway. If you eventually plan on trying them, all 3 of them are probably cheap enough to easily buy, give them all a try if you want, it wouldn't hurt, it's especially easier if you're pirating them, if you're pirating them, get the International version of X, it has more stuff, and is in complete English.

I have to disagree with you on this part. I disliked the DS version of FFIV. Why you ask? I didn't like the fact that I can no longer rename the characters to have names of myself & my friends. Also the skill union system (or whatever it's called) was very annoying.

As for FF3, on the DS, a lot of n00bs actually thought that the character "arrangement" of the original was the same as the remake, just look at this video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pxQhe_D2q8

OK, so it's a LEGO Parody, but there's one n00b who posted that the uploader was an idiot because he thought the DS remake was "correct" & this parody was incorrect with regards to the game starting with four un-named boys instead of how it was remade on the DS. The post is flagged as spam on page 8 of the comments, moronic n00b LOL!

If so, I resent that XD

And oh yeah, I forgot. Do play Final Fantasy Mystic Quest as well. It's non-cannon & is fairly on the easy side but it's still a great game :)
