New firmware for original R4 released - Wood R4

Anyone know if this fixes the problem with Picross 3D not working on YSMenu? I had to re-downgrade to the 1.18 firmware just so I could play it...

And n00b question here, do I just need to REPLACE all of the files in my SD Card folder (bar the games and save files of course) or simply add them in? Thanks in advance.

I'm using Vista and don't know where my "Run" is, it's not on my Start Menu.
Plus the X (my drive) would the be the drive my SD Card's plugged into?

 

Press windows key and R to get the run dialog You don't need to use CD either, just E: (for example)

[Right Click> Rename]
for those that use windows 3.1 and newer.
[Right Click> Properties] Uncheck the "Read Only" box if the file is giving you grief

 

Not working unfortunately, I try typing "D:\ (the drive of my SD Card) and it says it's "not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

I try typing "cd D:\" but that just brings up a new line...and finally, tried typing "D:\ ren *.sav *.sav.nds" which says it's "Syntax is incorrect".

I'm stuck. >_<

Ok, so I've had one problem, I've added the latest usrcheat into the cheat folder but when i load up the cheat option on my r4 there is just an empty "misc codes" sub-menu, any thoughts?

D: then enter

Then do the rename command.

iw1990, just do a batch rename as explained in this thread.

Also if you want to backup all your saves at the same time you can do:

copy *.sav C:/ (or wherever you wish to copy them).

Went ahead and created a full topic for the issue I'm having.

 

In the end I just manually renamed all of my .sav files, works like a charm with (almost - NSMB seems to have lost it's save, no biggie) every game I have.

 

Even when the firmware wasn't working properly, a manual rename prevented it from wanting to create a new save at least. On the plus side, I have the firmware full functioning now, and this is a major upgrade.

I'm still expirimenting on how to make it work on R4 SDHC...

And it gets passed the LOADING... screen already!
