New firmware for original R4 released - Wood R4

CAN ANYONE TEST OUT MLB 2K10 USING THIS R4 WOOD PROGRAM FOR ME? PLEASE AND THANKS!

I WANT TO KNOW BEFORE INSTALLING THIS WOOD PROGRAM ONTO MY R4 USING V.1.18.

Too bad I have a R4-III Upgrade.

 

meh, should just update to a cart that's not relying on so much 'patches' and retire that clone.

 

A little question about this...
if I rename them,
can I use My savegame created with 1.18 firmware
without problem?

I tried to rename my save file and it didn't work... It was the save from my R4i for Pokemon Diamond... I changed the name to Pokemon Diamond.nds.sav and it still tries to start a new game...

AND I tried using acekard2 skins and they failed too...

 

Try another game first, one that you haven't a .sav file for, let the cart make a save for you for THAT game, basically study what the cart does to see what you should be doing.
BTW, I'm not sure if the dsi variation of that 'cart' works well with Wood, if at all.

 

I'm trying to put Wood on my old antique R4 for my brother so he stops stealing my R4i... So I transferred his saves and file over but the saves don't work. I'll try a different game and see how it goes... I can always try converting the save file.

 

Yes, I did it. Example: Lost Magic (U).Sav
Change it to: Lost Magic (U).nds.Sav.
Don't forget the dot before nds

Btw, couldn't someone make a list with all the games that work un-patched?

omfg AWESOME every game works! ive tryed soul silver (bought Heart Gold) and went in and out a door for over 100 times! without freezing! this is AWESOME XD hope the skins and such will get fixed but this skin looks awesome anyway

Finally got the annoying little mofo to work... adding .nds.sav didn't work... all I had to add was .nds
weird, but it works.

 

Well, there is already standing sav, so it's only natural that you have to put .nds in front of it

 

it didn't have .sav there though the file name was just "pokemon diamond" and all I had to do was add .nds

so it looked like this "pokemon diamond.nds" but the file type was "sav_auto_file"

 

Then wasn't it just the Nds file?
Cause I don't think it was a sav. file that you changed.
But I can be wrong, so sorry if I am.

 

Hahahaha nice... I was gonna get a new flash cart but thanks to this I wont have to. I've also been thinking about getting a new ds, will this allow my regular old R4 to be compatible with the new big screen DS'? Or am I just getting my hopes up way to high for my zombie flash cart?

 

You must have file extensions set to be hidden on your pc. It's usually bes that you set it so you can see them, to avoid confusion.

 

I'm having trouble. :\

I put aside all Ysmenu files, and just put in the "Root" folder that was in the download. I put the usrcheat.dat in Root>_rpg>cheat.
And I also made it so all save files have ".nds.sav" as an extension. I turned on my ds with the R4 inserted, and I try to load up a random game. I loaded up Mario Party DS. When I did, it said NO_SAV_CREATE, so I was like what the heck, I have a save file for this. I press BTN_YES, and it says Creating sav for like 2 seconds then it goes to this. "r4patch.dat NO_BOOT_LOADER".
I tried another game, same thing. Oh yeah, I also can't see the Cheat button.

because I use 2 SD
(one with Ysmenu and one with 1.18)
so I'll put this CF instead of 1.18
But I don' want to lose my savegame...
