    here's a strong reason based on a major event: a bunch of people on romulation decided so. I'd like to see ol' Ruddy ignore that.

    it was Australia. If the British had not deported a load of criminals to Australia, the country would not exist as you know it. Like it or not, its a key part of Australian heritage. Also, as far as I remember, when the criminals arrived in Australia, they essentially became free men. So rather than sitting in some horrible jail cell in England (and jails really were not nice then, unlike now), they were essentially given a chance to make a new life in the new world, as Australia was known then. So really, they built Australia up into what she is now.

    I'm usually not a fan of our current anthem...but then again, since when do other countries get a say of what anthem they'd like?

    Also, there's not a better feeling then hearing the Aussie Anthem after winning a gold medal in the Olympics. Although it doesn't often happen in the Winter games. :p

    My point exactly, changing a country's anthem will not happen just as you would snap your fingers & wish it so.

    It takes some heavy deliberations before such a thing would happen.

    Also let me elaborate why...

    Is such an EPIC FAIL:
