    If you make your own carts with fan translators' work patched on your game they can & will sue you for copyright infringement & Piracy as they often explicitly state on their readme files, & in newer fan translation patches on their own splash screens, that their product is not intended to be sold for profit.

    See, these guys do not approve of piracy because it is illegal. Had you read the readme files that come with their fan translation patch they often explicitly say, "you are on your own when it comes to procuring a copy of the game" & in fact they strongly recommend you to dump your own copy from an actual cart you own.
