Don't get me started on this anime, I'm a huge fan of any anime. But, Neon Genesis Evangelion is probably the most over-rated and worst anime I've ever seen.

I was starting to wonder if great robot anime's were now just a thing of the past.

But I have been watching the first season Code Geass and I've got to say it's one of the best anime's I've seen. With very respectable but not over the top robot fighting scenes, and also some great robot designs.

If your looking for a new robot anime with also another huge amount of genres like high school life, mind game etc. Code Geass is for you.

 

Yeah I watched Code Geass, it was good, but nothing else I think

and frankly, I hate robots animes, but NGE was one the rare one I actually enjoyed, the character development was what actually interested me throughout the series

Code geass is quite a good anime but its new-school cause the studio use computers to put productivity up(Eva is old-School and totaly hand drawn and animated) please read my post way up there about the money problems they went through and to date the only anime that ive seen that comes near the amount of planning and story deepness is Death Note

 

Yes well now money isn't such a bother to Gainax, but the quality of the animation of the movie You Are [Not] Alone (1) was not very...remarkable?
it was good, but not enough I guess

 

they tried to make it close to the original series,Gainax is still Old-school studio ftw
