I tried both NeoGamma and Uloader and I can't get my game from the USB to load, what should I add or remove to get it to work? I already formated my 8GB USB flash drive to NTFS. Any ideas?

...care to explain what a "neogamma" and "uloader" is?

...Would this be the usb drive program to make an external ps2 hard drive?

Re: NeoGamma Uloader not loading games

Ohh! sorry, my bad. NeoGamma and Uloader are Homebrew channel apps for the wii, that allow me to play wii back up games from a DVD-R or in this case my 8GB USB flashdrive which has, New super mario bros wii. Also, if anyone here is familar with neogamma or Uloader I hope that they can explain what I must tweak, or do to get these Homebrew app to function correctly, like maybe, changing some cIOS to something eles? or doing something with rev15? I'm currently using my best friend google but hes not helping me much at the moment. So! I decided to ask my second best friends, romulation!

Re: NeoGamma Uloader not loading games Wii Homebrew

You have to format your flash drive to WBFS. Not NTFS. That's for windows. WBFS is for wiis!

you can do this in Uloader. it's fairly simple and straigtforward. just put your usb flash drive into your wii (Gecko slot A), launch HBC, Launch Uloader, then format the drive!

it should work, if it doesn't format it in windows to fat32 just like when you formatted your SD card for the wii like when i helped you and then do this - just put your usb flash drive into your wii (Gecko slot A), launch HBC, Launch Uloader, then format the drive!

and if you ever need any help with your wii i can help!

Ohh! thays nice, but my uloader doesn't load up.

    and neogamma has
" Press A to mount WBFS"
    "Load Games from USB"

I found WBFS Manager 2.5 and i'm not even sure if i'm doing things right.

    download this - http://www.4shared.com/file/170199525/368817f2/uloader_v32.html

in it is the Uloader V 3.2a. you need to extract it to a folder, open the folder called wbfs_win.
-then run the program called wbfs_win.exe.
-it will load up. check you drive letter through my computer, then press the letter of your drive.
-it may ask you to format it.
-just follow the instructions and then you will have a WBFS drive!

    Adding games with WBFS_WIN
-open wbfs_win and select your WBFS partitioned flash drive
-hit 1 to open a window to add a game.
-find the iso and then select it.
-it will transfer the game onto the flash drive and will not transfer the "garbage data" that is used to make games either 4.7 GB or 9GB.
-then just keep doing the process until you are done!

-plug your flash drive into your wii
    -launch HBC
    -Launch neogamma
-Go to option mount WBFS drive or the such
    -select game and enjoy!

    did you install cIOS222 yet?

    download this instead - http://www.4shared.com/file/170199525/368817f2/uloader_v32.html
it is more up-to-date and is ver. 4 instead of ver.3

Put the contents of the apps folder from the download into your apps folder on your wii sd card

    then do as follows.

if it doesn't work use the link you posted.

you beat me to it apo!!XD

but just remember NEVER update your wii. also once you get your install done, use StartPatch. install everything almost except the ones that you don't want. You will want the block disc updates, block network updates, and force wifi connection error test.

This is for 4.2 U Wiis ONLY!!!!! Do not use this for any other system menu except 4.2U
    Other versions found here.

There is a possibillity of bricking your wii, but i haven't yet. and when you update StartPatch, ensure that you uninstall the previous version FIRST....or you'll run into troubles....

Re: NeoGamma Uloader not loading games Wii Homebrew

Freezes up on Select cIOS202 with Ace101's download
and with the one I found it freezes up at IOS38 any ideas?

    EDITED
I think I figured it out! brb gonna test it

EDITED I'm obviously too stupid to understand simple instruction's So let me get this straight!

thoes steps are in this order?
E1) Select IOS249 to use at the beginning.
-Select IOS202. Selecct "use IOS38 (default)."
    -It will download and install.
THEN I redo step E1 am I right? like this?
E1) Select IOS249 to use at the beginning
-Select IOS222. Then select "Use IOS38 merged with 37".
    -It will download and install.
E1) Select IOS249 to use at the beginning
-Select IOS23. Then select "Use IOS38 merged with 37".
    -It will download and install

Well if it is that pattern I do not see " IOS23
    I also tried this pattern

E1) Select IOS249 to use at the beginning.
-Select IOS202. Selecct "use IOS38 (default)."
    -It will download and install.
E1) Select IOS222 to use at the beginning.
-Select IOS222. Then select "Use IOS38 merged with 37".

But! i still don't see how IOS23 plays into this? I can't get it to show up and it's noot showing up at all.

Re: NeoGamma Uloader not loading games Wii Homebrew

    oh....IOS23 should be ios223! i forgot the extra 2.

sorry.... but it should work if you do it that way.

That guide needs revision anyways...i wrote it in a day and thought it was good, but it needs a little cleaning up and re-arranging.

I am unsure why your wii is acting up so badly though....

    New version of cIOS38!! It's rev16! here's the link - http://filetrip.net/f9165-cIOS-Installer-38r16.html

to install it, You Must have Internet for your wii!!
-put it in the apps folder of your SD card,
    -run the HBC,
    -launch cIOS-installer-38rev16
    -Select IOS249
-Change Wad Installation to Network Install.
-Wait for it to be done, then you have cIOS38rev16!!

    i'll test it out!

Works fine with USB loader GX...just freezes with NeoGamma 8 Beta 15

Re: NeoGamma Uloader not loading games Wii Homebrew

No problem, I FINALLY! OH GOD I FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK! it was damn annoying!
and yes it was ios223 and I was wondering why ios23 never showed up and I kept trying different things in the begining like cios222 ect

when it was all in this order lol

REMOVE GC MEMORY CARDS AND GC CONTROLLERS OR IT WILL FREEZE!
First) Select IOS249 to use at the beginning.
-Select IOS202. Selecct "use IOS38 (default)."
    -It will download and install.
THEN I redo step E1 am I right? like this?
second time) Select IOS249 to use at the beginning
-Select IOS222. Then select "Use IOS38 merged with 37".
    -It will download and install.
Third time) Select IOS249 to use at the beginning
-Select IOS223. Then select "Use IOS38 merged with 37".
    -It will download and install

now that i got it working with neogamma I hope everything runs smoothly I heard games sometimes freeze up
Also, should I swap out for this New version of cIOS38!! It's rev16?
I mean I got it working... so whats the difference with this new version of cIOS38? rev16?
whats it for? and should I use this new version instead?

and whats starpatch for? I'm gonna install it because you told me too, lol
and how do I install it? do I place starpatch in my Apps folder?

one more thing, about Uloader.. I never did get it to work.. so should I stick with neogamma since it's working?

Re: NeoGamma Uloader not loading games Wii Homebrew

yeah! go ahead! use ios38rev16 i got it working perfectly with usb loader gx!

use that instead of Uloader if you feel like it!

and i am GLAD you finally got it working!!XD

I highly suggest installing rev16 because rev15 has some glitches that 16 fixes. Only if your comfortable with it though!

try out uloader first and see if it works since you installed ios222. once you install cIOS38 rev16, neo gamma will be useless.

Yeah, you put start patch in your apps folder. be careful with it though. If you upgrade to a newer version, you MUST uninstall the version before it.

A is to install and B is to uninstall the patches.

Ok I'm ready to install starpatch because No more heroes 2 and tatsunoko vs capcom are coming out soon!

So I placed my Starpatch on my apps folder and loaded it on homebrew channel.

    This what it says
    "Starpatch V4.2.6
    Selected IOS for starpatch <249>
Press LEFT/RIGHT to select other different IOS
    Press A to continue
    PRess B to abort.
    "
    what IOS should I select?

    Thanks in advance.

    Just use IOS249.

there will then be a list of things....you need to select mainly all of the top ones. If it says "Block Disc Update 1/5" you need to select all 5 of the patches...the same for the internet update one too.

Also choose " Force wifi connection error test" or something like that...but then there are tweaks as well that you can choose like move disc channel.

But when you update start patch, you need to uninstall all of the previous patches. so you have to go through the list pressing B until you get to the bottom to uninstall the patches.

    There is cIOS38 rev17 now as well! Improvements upon rev16. ----> http://filetrip.net/f9426-cIOS-Installer-38r17.html

Just place the cIOS38 installer in your /apps folder on your wii sd card
-launch the HBC and then run this installer.
-Install as IOS249 and do the Network install (just click left or right when you see wad installtion)
