Parkway Drive? They're an Australian band too ;D
Actually now that I think about it, they are a bit screamo, you may need to see if you can tolerate it hehe.

Local bands mean nothing to me-but if it's heavy with meaning I may give it a shot :)

Any more youtube demos to trial out ?

If you want good metal. Go for Amon Amarth. Norwegian Death Metal!

You should probably look at more foreign metal bands. That's where you'll find the good stuff.

Scar Symmetry is fantastic. Especially The Missing Coordinates, Holographic Universe, Ghost Prototype I and II, Slaves to the Subliminal, Deviate from the Form. In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, The Black Dahlia Murder, Insomnium, Becoming the Archetype, Arch Enemy, Moonspell, are just a few.

    Nightwish is awsome :)

I'm limited to what my music stores bring in-and I already have enough time going into a store to buy music-let alone the nich'e shops.

But I do have maximum the hormone (jap metal XD) and Rammstien (can't understand a word-but my part german friend translates the meaning of the songs preety well XD)

May get Lordi as well at some point-I saw an album today but price was out of my budget (system of a down-$15-nightwish-$25) so another time...

It's mostly american imports from where I buy my stuff-thus explains my collection...

    JB-you done it again XD

Linkin Park can be classified as Metal, albeit softer than other bands.

Sorry, i can't log on to yt now, but here are some suggestions:

    Finntroll
Korpiklaani <-- very cool folk/death metal bands

    In Flames <-- melodic deathmetal

Manowar <-- kinda cheesy now, but their older albums are a heavy metal feast

    Soilwork

    Alas - similar to Nightwish

    Children of Bodom

Alas-if it has those uniquie female lyrics I may be interested...

    Not bad...but I can't understand the guy...too much growling :(

Just the way I am-need to feel the lyrics as well-not someone competing with the guitars...

Don't know why that is-used to like that sort of thing...how odd...maybe I just want new things these days...

Anyone else-bear in mind I already bought 2 new cd's thanks to this thread-night wish ( :D) and system of a down (not bad...needs more substance...worth a go when I'm driving fast though XD)

You'll like Scar then. Mostly clean vocal work mixed with death growls.
