    I have Pokemon White 2 on my DS with R4 and it works perfectly, excpet for the Pokedex. I open it and after 30 seconds or so the image freezes, even if the music keeps going on.
    It is the same on my boyfriend's DS, who is playing Black 2.
    What can I do?
    Thank you for the help!

    I have an R4 3DS (with the latest updates for the firmware and r4wood) and when i go to load the game it goes from a white loading sign text to a red loading sign text :(.

    Does anyone know what's wrong??

    Yeah, it doesn't work for R4i SDHC either. It says the save file is corrupted when I didn't even load the game for it to create one.

    @Berex_33, Gogogadget, and PlasmaShooter,

    I'd suggest all 3 of you provide these info;
    1. full name of your flash cartridge (copy everything stated on the sticker of that cart)
    2. the current firmware in use (find out, run the cart on the console/browse through the files in the SD Micro for info)
    3. brand and size of the SD Micro
    4. console in use, and what it's firmware in use
    5. website of the flash cart you have (the official website, not online shop's)
    6. image of your cartridge (either take photo or google it)
    7. last but not least, what had you did/tried to the point you gave up and ask for help (detail it all to us)

    Maybe then, someone could help you after knowing all those info; remember.....by being informative, you will help us to help you.

    @Whiteace,

    Maybe it's a glitch you experienced. Tried using a different rom, but name both the save file and rom the exact same to the dot. Maybe it'll be resolved. Who knows....

    Well, in my case:

    R4i-SDHC V1.4.4
    Currently using firmware 1.64b
    Website: http://r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp
    The website shows the image of the cartridge.

    I'm using a Nintendo DS and have tried downloading both the original and the patched versions of this game. Both of them gave me the same error about being unable to open the game.

    You are right.
    So:
    1)R4-SDHC Upgrade
    2)Firmware 1.64 b
    3Brand of the micro-sd: Kingston; size: 4gb
    4)My ds is the older one
    5)website http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/
    6)image of the cartridge http://www.ilaikeediscount.com/images/R420SDHC.jpg
    7)I am using patched italian version taken from Romulation, but I didn't try the non-patched one. My boyfriend tried both the patched and the non-patched version on his DS (same as mine, same R4 and so on), but the Pokedex still does not work. I tried to download again the firmware, but I still have the same problem.

    @PlasmaShooter & Berex_33 (including boyfriend);

    Have you all any YSMENU/TTMENU in your cart's as secondary firmware?
    Since you haven't mention it, I shall assume none of you have.

    Check the FLASHCART SECTION (http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=43121.0), there's YSMENU/TTMENU topic;
    1. Download the RGF package and Jhon591's package (you can find his latest in the last page of the topic); unpack them
    2. Back up your entire SD MICRO content
    3. Format the SD MICRO using the program provided in RGF's package
    4. Copy over the backed up files to the SD MICRO (do keep a copy in the computer as well for safety!)
    5. Open RGF's package, and find in the compatibility list which one match your cart's website and product name (copy the folder to your SD MICRO).
    6. Open the TTMENU folder, locate these; extinfo.dat, infolib.dat, and savlib.dat. Replace all 3 with Jhon591's set. (Unless, RGF already update
    his package to the latest, cause at current it's still v.6.95 r6126)
    7. Try loading your card again on the console, run the TTMENU.nds or YSMENU.nds first after switching on before loading the rom.
    Hopefully it's resolved.

    Note:
    * Careful....not to overwrite any files belonging to the R4 ! If you did, replace the overwritten file with the backed up file.
    That's why keeping a back up is always mandatory.
    * If your cart is not among the listed, try the R4_SDHC-R4i_SDHC package, but do keep a back up of the SD MICRO content.
    If it doesn't re-solve your problem, means it's not compatible, delete the YSMENU/TTMENU package in your SD MICRO.
    * If it work, use 'unpatched' rom, there's no longer the need to use pre-patched rom.

    Hmm.
    There are a few links on the actual threads in the NDS board. Grab them from there.

    Hi, I am new to this. I currently have a N5 card for DS. I downloaded the V2 patched version but it won't load on the N5. It just gets stuck on a white screen. I have tried to update the firmware to the newest version (last updated in 2010). Still won't work. Any suggestion?

    Use Retrogamefan's YSMENU/TTMENU as your secondary firmware since the N5 is outdated, find it in the FLASHCART SECTION, read compatibility list to know which one in the package to use on the N5 (it's an R4 clone by the way); remember to back up SD Micro content before giving it a go, by following the instructions provided.

    Alright so I'm trying to get my game to work right but no luck, I'm using the latest Wood Firmware on my R4, I have the patched version of Pokemon White 2 with the "reset in game" setting off. Now when save it and reload the game, I keep getting that my data corrupted over and over, I've tried with the "reset in game" setting both on and off and no luck. Can anyone help me out here?

    Main system setting has in-game reset to off and the game setting is off as well, does that help or no?

    Could someone explain to me how to fix the errors..?? im clueless sorry.

    1. Make sure you are using the correct version of WOOD for R4 according to what your cart is. Also make sure your cart is supported by WOOD.
    Only the original R4DS v.1.18 (non-SDHC cart), R4i Gold from r4idsn.com and r4ids.cn, and Acekard R.P.G will run WOOD. The rest will not,
    even if there is any claim about it, the so call WOOD isn't from YWG, or already no longer supported.
    2. If you are using the latest WOOD according to what your cart can use, then make sure to use CLEAN (unpatched) rom. Make sure to
    delete the existing save file, probably it's corrupted.
    3. Refrain from using too many cheats, it seems some on the database isn't working well.

    Tempering with the settings won't do much difference. So let it be at default. Just make sure your R4 is one that can use WOOD that is supported
    by YWG. Don't go for WAIO, MAIO, WOOD for SDHC, etc. They are not from YWG and has no ability to run new roms.

    In any case, next time please clearly mention what your R4 cart brand, official website, firmware, etc. There are over 2 dozen carts going by that name alone. Most are either clones, or clone of a clone, which can be very unreliable.

    If you are clueless about your error issues, we are even more clueless about your problem. Posting a message like you just did, means nothing to us. We can't help you if you're not being informative and detail. So NO! we can't explain anything to you, we don't even know which to explain, too broad and general. Give details first about your cart, it's website, firmware, rom region, what you had did that ended with error, what sort of error, etc. Else, we won't explain anything, since there are so many things to explain. It'll be a waste of our time and effort explaining about the many probabilities. Better you explain your end of the issue first, then we'll assist from there. So that we don't go off providing technical support for nothing, and you'll just end up more confused and frustrated than you already are.

    Too many posts to find what I'm looking for...

    I'm using No$Zoomer and all the AR codes to fix the bugs in Pokemon White 2 but when I use the menus the back or X button freezes the game. The music hangs and leaves a black screen. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Use DeSmuME.
    Why does no one use DeSmuME?

  19. Prectorian

    Prectorian . Staff Member

    Cause the majority still thinks No$GBA is the best, fastest, less buggy, high compatibility, reliable, and most up to date.
    That's why. However, they probably didn't realize that it's been abandoned for several years now, while DeSmuMe still getting continuous updates. Thus the only reliable portion still hold true, is just the superior speed being still above DeSmuMe. Every one has their preference and stereotyping.

    Does no one use Google?
    I'm thinking of making a guide 'How to fix most emulator problems'. And the guide would only have the words 'Use DeSmuME'. Simple.

    Meh. Speed doesn't really matter.
    I've never had any problems with DeSmuME (and I still use the old 'official' builds). And after comparing it to No$GBA, I still don't notice a difference in speed.
